Gents, I am having trouble finding the perfect tweed from Bookster, all of the brown swatches have just a little too much green in them. Is having green with brown inherent with all tweed?
Suit and cap are in the Glenhunt dark brown HB tweed, did you check this? (I don't have better pictures of it, I think.)
The brown herringbone tweed I got a swatch of has green in it, it may not be noticeable from a few feet away though. I wish I could see a coat made with it in person.
Your pictures definitely look brown though, thank you!
Great jacket! Where'd you get it? You don't see that sort of pattern much in the Bay Area stores,
except maybe Polo.
Thanks, Roger. It's a Southwick/Paul Stuart I thrifted within the past couple of years. It may be my favorite garment.
Wow. That is up north California Alameda, right? That looks promising for other flea items, might check that out when I am in nor cal
I picked up this tweed, loved the "base" gray color, and the subtle blue, golden, green and red threads. A quick try on left my unhappy with the shoulders, but overall it is wearable for casual outerwear look.
Thats a very nice selection of tweeds
Call me Tweedy Bird
My favourite tweed:
