He's right. I liked the jacket so much I went looking on the RRL site, and the closest thing they have has these skinny little lapels and shows about three inches of crotch.

    No-ot good.

It kind of reminds me of the coat Cumberbatch wears in Sherlock actually

Gents, can I wear worsted wool trousers with a university stripe ocbd and donegal tweed SC? I worry that I need some slacks that have more texture, like flannel.

Could you? Sure. Could you without criticism? Most likely. Should you? That would depend on the temperature. If the worsted is stout enough to keep the lowers warm when its cool enough for a tweed SC then I would have no objections. Normally, though, flannel does better. For that matter, have you considered corduroy? It goes very will with tweed and doesn't cost anywhere as much a good flannel.

I have plenty of flannel, I just want to wear the zanella pants I just got  I should add they have a plaid pattern.

Interesting video about the recent economic history of Harris Tweed:

I was reviewing costs of Harris Tweed on Bookster and it seems the fabric would cost me about ~$200.00 for a sport coat. According to what I have read on this forum getting a custom sport coat tailored would cost about $300.00 - $500.00. So the total cost would be $500.00 - $700.00 for one sport coat. Would that be a relatively accurate figure? I live in NYC. If anyone has experience with this here I'd appreciate the feedback.

    Thanks!

I think you could expect to pay a bit more in NYC.

Isn't bookster a total cost of around $450?

Indeed it seems I can get what I want for about $490 shipped. I'm not sure what in the world I was looking at before! Thanks for the tip!

I don't know your tastes, but I was told by Bookster that they can make a "softer" shoulder at your request.

Haha - I was doing some research last night and stumbled upon your post regarding that from last year. I think I would definitely opt for the softer shoulder. Do you know the approximate construction + delivery time? 2 months or so I am guessing?

Tweed experts, what is the difference between thornproof and donegal fabrics? They look very similar to me.
