Very nice coat though

Indeed! I found an almost identical one in 2007, a Loro Piana black deerskin carcoat with cream cashmere lining, for $34.99 at VV.

It was def. more worn than yours, and hugely too big for me, so I sold it eBay for about $780, I think, and used the money to buy stuff in my own size.

I know a couple SF big-timers who don't sell on B/S, but donate their stuff instead. Pejsek (SF thrifter who used to find mind-blowing stuff) was almost positive he found some uber high-end shoes from a certain SFer from time to time. I think he did find an old WAYWN photo of the member wearing the same shoes!

Ooooh, good idea. I'll have start seeding items to see how widely the donation/display lag varies so I can use my insider info to donation-stalk with sniperly precision.

Well, I was being SF unapproved: I wore a pinstripe odd jacket

But seeing as pretty much all of my clothing right now is thrifted...

If it didn't require the effort to download, crop, and reupload that, it would probably be my avatar right now.

Never heard of the last 2, but the quality was amazing (especially the Paul and Shark - super thick MOP buttons, nice trim fit, amazing feel) Left a bunch of once or twice worn Robert Talbott staple solid blue and white shirts as they were all a tad too generously cut.

I got out of there in about 10 minutes, makes me wonder what else was in that donation that I didn't have time to look for.......

IMO Taylorbyrd makes a nice shirt...definitely worth picking up if the price was right.

I am indeed. They don't seem to be available to often on B&S or eBay and the availability in my local stores is limited to prices of $150+.

Yes he does. Here's hoping he finds a job soon: his full-time thrifting has pretty much Hoover'd up anything on my route.

I thought there might be enough to go around but my manager-friend at one stop told me my old nemesis flippper (he of "sportcoat snatched from my cart" fame) has moved back to Dallas. He is living with his mother (go figure) and has taken up flipping again full-time. Csou - you'd best hit it hard: that dude is relentless. He boasted to me that he hits 20 stores in one day and I don't doubt it.

My closet is full, I have a backlog of tailoring to work through, and apparently other guys need the stuff much more than me. Therefore, I believe I now qualify as semi-retired...

I haven't yet started limiting suspenders by brand - I hardly ever come across any that are even branded. I pick up what looks nice, picked up a pair this morning in fact. Other than Thurston, which I see talked about on SF, what are some other nice brands, and how are they labeled? The most I find is "Made in England" on the hardware.
