Don't lie, you know you used the free version FruityLoops!

Nah, as a high school student with a disinclination to pay for things, I played with a pirated rebirth.

I then tried to play with a pirated version of Reason and always found it too complicated compared to Rebirth. I did use fruity loops and something else (acid maybe?) to make a lion-king remix a couple years ago though

Chipp tuxedo, 2 solid navy canali sportscoats, and a zenga 15milmil15 charcoal pinstripe suit. Pleasantly surprised when 3 of the 4 rang up at half price.

actually only part time, the other part i get some really good deals because i have good connections and i know the right people.
but yeah you could say that, you can make a very good living if you know what you are doing, and everyday is like an adventure.
in this past week i sold verything from a Gold Bulova to a 1950's cofee table to a snowboard to a Eames womb chair to a Peugeot vintage race bike from the 70's ($1200 bought for $12).
its all about knowledge and timing (dumb luck)

It is amazing how much you know about all different kinds of stuff. For all: [IMG]

Not saying about him personally, but I spent years as a picker and still do it a little and most don't know much, they take educated guesses. I don't spend much without confirmation, that's where the Blackberry comes in. Last week I got a binocular microscope form the VA hospital for $9 at a yard sale. Do I know anything about microscopes? No, I do know however that hospital microscopes are high quality and cost a lot more than $9. New it was $1,800, I got $500 for it.

The local men's consignment store is having their x2 yearly 50% off clearance items sale today. They are normally way too over-priced but a few things slip through the cracks occasionally. These prices are closer to eBay than a thrift store but I'm paid up on tuition and the closet cleaning via eBay is going pretty good so I decided to splurge - and at least I got to try them on first as opposed to the 'bay. Kiton suit - 3/2, side-vent, FF pants, surgeon's cuffs, fits like it was tailored for me. It is also freshly dry-cleaned so I'm breaking it out this Sunday - $250 Brioni sportcoat - 2B, side-vent, surgeon's cuffs, silk/wool - it must be from the same guy because it also fits perfectly - $150 Oxxford suit - 3/2, side-vents, super 150's- $180 BB Golden Fleece - recent tags - 2B, center-vent suit - $75 Icotex gray flannels - $24 John Varvatos FF light-weight tweed slacks - $24 Ties for $3 each: Zegna, 2 Charvets, Brioni, Missoni, and a Kiton. I saw the ties on a separate clearance rack and was only half-way looking (I must have 100+ ties) until I hit that first Charvet. Then that rack had my undivided attention! Now I just have to figure out a way to get it all in the house without my wife killing me...
Geez! Nice score! $3 per tie is thrift store pricing! Very well done. It seems quite a few people are having great luck recently. [IMG] Still on a dry streak. Hit 4 stores today and found one tie for $2.99. It's a mint, recent Stefano Ricci tie, so I'm not complaining. I just am curious as to what's going on. This used to be prime time for thrifting, now it just sucks....

You should certainly condition 'em before you polish. Even if it is just the photo.

look at it this way you can buy a harley davidson anytime but try finding a 1937 knucklehead...in a barn for twenty bucks.
i have found kiton suits three times already and i know i will again.i know i will never find this again so its more of an accomplishment for me

This is indeed one of those once-in-a-lifetime finds. Reminds me of mine. About 6 years ago I stopped into a chain thrift store about an hour before they closed. I had just got off work and went to check the record section out (the clothing at this store sucked and was never worth looking at for a long time), but on my way to the back of the store where the records were, I spotted a set of speakers. Rogers LS3/5a's to be precise, not that I knew what they were at the time anyway. Didn't look like anything special, but obviously very well made. Made in England. Hand-written serial numbers. Speakers were mint. Each was marked $3.99. I happily bought both. Got home and looked them up and my head almost exploded. They were going on eBay for $2,500-$3,000 per set! They probably came in with the original box, but knowing this particular store, they probably chucked the box before the speakers left the back room. [IMG]

I have them to this day, they are my trophy find and I will never sell them.

Allen Edmonds MacNeil and Polo, IN MY SIZE...both in excellent condition. $35 total...woot! [IMG] Oh and I had just been lamenting how dry the shoe hunting had been over the last few months, then I find these. also found a cool Burberry (not burberrys) gray sport coat that fills a hole in the ol wardrobe.

No dice at the thrift today. Among the rejects: Oxxford necktie that was beat, HSM Gold Trumpeter overcoat (too worn) and two pairs of AE: Norse and Canton, in decent shape but not my size.[IMG]
