1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

First charvets I've ever seen, all skewered with inventory control tags. "Fuck you, bargain shoppers!"

When I see stuff like this I can't help but think some people are just born stupid.

Hi Jumpman welcome to the thread. Some contributors here do this full time and make a nice living for themselves but it takes years to gain that knowledge. Then there are others like myself that thrift sporadically for ourselves, sending our nicer finds to consigners like Spoo or Snoogz and others. Reading the entire history of posts on this thread really helps put things in perspective. Good luck and happy thrifting.

That makes sense and is good advise thanks. Do you like the consignment route then as a hobby?

If those stick around to <$48 I would take them to the counter and ask them to remove the tags to see the damage. Those Charvets are weaves, probably survived the kabob, but inspect them before you buy.

Yeah I have a demanding full time job and I am a parent. I barely have time to take pictures of what I find and I don't have time to thrift more than once or twice a week. Consignment will take a bite out of your profit so it is a learning curve to start realizing what is actually worth picking up. I actually much prefer to trade with the other members of this forum who include some incredibly knowledgable and friendly people. You avoid consignment fees and the entire EBay hassle that way. It's also a great way to get to know people here who are exceptionally cool. It all just takes a while to learn and expect to make mistakes. I'm still just a year in and a noob myself but send me a pm if I can ever be of help.
