1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Spoo, what's more of a problem: me wanting Deets on that 46L leather, or it being past midnight and I've yet to crash for a few hours. Either way, when u awaken here shortly, mind getting me deets on my ever growing affixation with ur leathers.

    Goodnight/goodmorning.

I need to rename the west wing of the office after you.

Good morning good sir! The zipper is broken on it, and it feels like it runs small…almost first me. I don't think that one is for you… the Kors still in the arsenal?

I know, right!!!??? Those are super limited and you can't buy them outside of Japan. Even in Japan, you can only buy them from a hand full of shops. No one import them and if they did, these would have been easily 350 to 400, stat!

Dude, I might even cop these...

Normally I would steer clear in these circumstances, but for a S150s solid charcoal Brioni suit, I succumbed.

So, is there a way to remove or reduce “yellowing” stains from the inside of suit pants, or is that just a dead loss?

Is it everywhere? Pockets, silk lining, etc.? If it's just in a small area, you can cut that fabric out, or have it replaced.

I’m thinking that is the way to go. I tried it on, and it is a bit too big for me. If I was hanging onto it, I’d probably go the whole hog and get new pockets and front lining. The other option is to sell the jacket alone. Since it’s Brioni, I can probably find a buyer.

See how much a tailor would charge to replace the lining first.

I've gotten a couple of quotes for this, and both were over $100 (includes pockets). If it were a recent cashmere Kiton suit, I'd say do it, but otherwise it's not worth it. I've only invested that kind of money in one item, and it was a reweaving for a bitchin' Huntsman blazer that sold for like $600.

There are a few methods around the interwebs but I did try another one (thanks mommy [IMG]). You soak them for days in "Marseille soap". Hard to describe what this is in English but check there : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marseille_soap

I'm pretty sure you can find these all around the world

THat looks a lot like Fels-Naptha, which is another hard laundry soap that is very effective.

Speaking of dogs, my wife made me watch Subaru commercials last night on Youtube with the dog family. I cracked up at the one with the poodle in the crosswalk and the bathroom break at the quik stop.

My thought was that the creative meeting where this was proposed had to be a riot as they threw out various ideas for these.

Don't get a chance to see a lot of TV and when I do its dvr'd.

    So I found this belt.

Alright, seems fine for now. Some rolling in the leather where the buckle went.

But then, out of nowhere, that back area that gets messed up most on belts has some sort of microcrease/cracking thing going on.

A little moreso when you bend the belt.

Is this normal for shell cordovan belts?

It depends on how much. The pockets are the limiting factor. If you're talking about more than an inch, you probably need to pass and wait on a better one.

There was a thread on this where Chris Despos described the challenges with the tailoring and the proportion when you shorten a jacket.

Manhattan thrifting is amazing. I was in a shop last week that had like six racks of new Saint James stuff, four Mackintosh amps, several pairs of unworn Mabitex trousers, some newish YSL Rive Gauch coats, and that was just the start of it. Mostly too expensive to carry home and sell, but all at prices I'd have popped for stuff in my size. Unreal.
