1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Really? How can you tell? The tag looks "off" to me, but I'm no Hermes expert by any means.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Yeah, they are made in China, but fit quite well and have some nice detailing. Quality seems quite good.

I've learned to not give advice like its a fact unless you're an expert!

What looks off to you? The font looks right, the accent is facing the correct way, the tag is tacked twice on each side. Th weaving is also done well and is similar to other Hermes knits.

The Hermes appears legit to me as well. Hermes knit ties (and a select few of their other ties) have the "Hermes-Paris" underneath the carriage on the label. It is absent (and a dead giveaway spotting a fake) on their regular ties.

Wait, that's not true, is it? I thought there was a period where they did this on their regular ties.

Quoting yesterday's find as I found a same color/fabric BB Milano orphan trouser, 42R/36W. I'll list them on eBay as a suit but I don't think the Fitzgerald jacket and Milano trouser will raise too many eyebrows? Bought them to sell, not my size.

Maybe this should get moved to the eBay thread, but I think the consensus is that would be a bad idea.

The font looks different than a Hermes tie I have (at least from what I remember the tie/tag looks like), and I didn't know any or their ties were made in Italy.

Damn! Congrats. I haven't found shell in 3 years thrifting out here in AZ. I think it's a myth.

Never found any locally here either. I was thinking maybe it's not as common on the west coast? I don't know, just a theory.

My only pair I've ever found were some AE Tassels last time I was in Vegas. They need a re-sole soon, but wasn't going to leave them behind just because it was my first shell find.

I've also never found anything Alden, when I know some of you guys find them often. There's one that I'm patiently waiting for.

Hermes prints all their own silk, and those ties are all made in France. But the knits can be made in Germany, Italy, or France. The tags for regular prints, scarf prints, and knits all vary from each other.

Well, so this happened today... You guys remember when that men's store in my city decided to unload some merchandise? Well, they did it again! Here is a portion of it. They are bringing much more!
Currently all N/A until I figure out what I am doing with this crap.

New Carrot & Gibbs Bow Ties
    [IMG]

    New R. Hanauer Bow Ties
    [IMG]

    New Martin Dingman Bow Ties
    [IMG]

    New Martin Dingman emblematic ties
    [IMG]

Craploads of new Robert Talbott Mainline, Carmel, and Handsewn ties
(This is less than half of them... lol)

Some new Robert Talbott Best of Class ties
    (Again... many more to come)

A small portion of more new ties: Cantini, Breuer, Seaward & Stearn, Atkinson's
    Carrot & Gibbs, Drakes, etc.

Got Bills? I do! As a matter of fact, close to 100 pairs! lol
Here are some of them: I have driving twills, Hampton twills, cavalry twills, regatta twills, brushed twills, shell cloth, poplin, chamois cloth, cotton gab, etc. They are in M1, M1P, M2, M2P
    [IMG]

    And, of course, Bills cords!
They are in wide wale, 6-wale, 5-pocket, and Dixie wale (21-wale)

Plus, a ton of various makers dress pants:
Majer (sea island cotton, super 120's wool), Southwick, Oxxford, Loro Piana for Normandy & Monroe, etc...
    More to come!

While at the same thrift store, I picked up some nearly new other items:
Gitman Bros. gingham SS sport shirts (NWT), class of 64 wool cardigan, BB pincord suit, Canali SC, AE PAs in great condition, been had ties, C. Tyrwhitt ties, Canali tie, etc.

Then, I stopped at a Marshalls a few miles away and:
Been had patchpocket seersucker and ivory double breasted, Southwick 3/2 sack linen SC, been had dress shirts (not quite the 10% rule as they were $10 each), a couple of BB and Ike Behar bows, and an awesome leather and tartan BB brief case / messenger bag
