Found a nice NWOT Brooks Bros. Golden Fleece dress shirt today for $2. French cuffs and a spread collar. The store also had a bunch of NWOT Brooks Bros. stuff. All Slim Fit shirts, mostly button-down collar stuff and a few Makers custom-made stuff that hadn't been picked up. All were around $2/each. Lots of 15.5 x 33 sizes.

Three North Face jackets this afternoon. I know North Face is a bit passe and makes you look like a high school girl, but these were Gore Tex and in great shape. If nothing else, I can sell them on the 'Bay.

No, I mean stuff is WAY overpriced.

A $70 tie and $16 Burberry shirt, might as well go retail!

An ugly tie is an ugly tie no matter who made it.

Yes. I like Zegna ties. This one appears to be bluer than the photo bc of falsh. Nice in a blazer.

I don't mind that tie personally... but I don't mind a lot of Zegna ties, even from the standard stack of 80's Zegnas that apparently gets passed around the forum as people re-donate them when they discover how meh old Zegna can be. Just out of curiosity, which label/how old is it?

And if you're looking for yourself, yeah, old Zegnas will hold you for awhile, but hold out for the nicer stuff eventually. I remember the first time I saw a better tie - it was a Charvet in a Goodwill that never produced any other tie better than Brooks Brothers. I always figured someone got a nice Christmas present one year and didn't understand what it was. That tie is still in my closet, actually... it's just that now there's seven other Charvets beside it along with plenty of other superlative ties, and only a couple of those older Zegnas. Moral of the story: keep plugging away!

Also, don't forget to cull your stuff every now and then - writing this reminds me to clear out some ties. [IMG]
