1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Barrie shoes (made in England) are English sized right? Just found a pair of 11D brown captoes.

    Three methods:
    1. Dirtbag method: duct tape
    2. Repair tape in a matching color
    3. Sew it

Alternatively, find a pro repair shop. When I burned a hole through my Western Mountaineering sleeping bag, I took it to the company. They replaced several panels of nylon such that I cannot tell it was patched. They also added some down.

This one's pretty cool. How's the fit? I've found Coppley to run a half to a full size large. (I chalk it up to vanity sizing)

Someone brief me... Pressidential scs at 30, t and a sea island cotton at 20, and Malo cashmere silk blends also at 20 are bad passes right? I'm at one store and almost over the budget I laid out for myself today.

I wouldn't pass on any of those. Also, eff budgets. This is America, the land of deficit spending.

That sounds so hipster. "Don't buy this jacket". So ironic. So trendy.

And I just noticed your comment there haha.

I agree with your take on the "Don't buy this jacket" advertising campaign. The thing that really gets my goat is the notion that somehow we need to buy a new jacket every year (or worse, every season) to keep up with the ever-changing trends. I see no problem with buying tons of second-hand clothing to fill the obsessive need to consume. To many of us here, that's the fun of this hobby.

I bought a new outer shell last winter after searching but not finding anything but all my base layers have come from thrifting, I can't spend $80 for a fleece when I know I can look and find the same thing for $6. My old shell lasted 15 years and I only got rid of it after the zipper teeth broke, style doesn't matter vs warmth IMO.

This is one of the reasons I love Hickey Freeman so much. Their jackets and suits are very high quality for how much they cost, and they have recently been improving their build quality and fabric selections. Most of the new HF jackets I see have nice pick-stitched lapels and seams, pick-stitched lining, really nice fabrics, and a great fit and style.

This jacket that Spoo recently sold was insane, kicking myself for not having the skrilla to own it. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Just sold one that was pretty similar. If it was a 40 R I probably would of never sold it :embar: [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

That jacket is awesome. I really like a lot of Hickey Freeman's stuff and you're right that the construction is awesome. Martin greenfield is the same, though that's pricier. I would love to see hickey freeman experiment with some bolder fabrics tbh.
