1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

So hey, actually have some real-life brick-and-morter thrift finds here, nothing y'all will get super-excited over but pretty dang nice for personal use. The shirts in particular I've been desperately needing after getting to the point where 80% of my old wardrobe is too big even with significant tailoring. Anyway, brags are three land's end BD's, two viyella and a yellow OCBD. The blue/green/white tartan at the top is particularly choice because it's the old 55/45 blend instead of 20/80 like the other. The Reis of New Have tie's a nice slubby silk:

Blues are definitely the entire rest of this guy's wardrobe, all the perfect size for me but DQ'd for one reason or another. There was another viyella with a fairly unattrative pattern, a couple strange OCBD/Fishing shirt hybrids, and some really nice made-in-america polos with noticable holes. The worst though was a lightweight mid-blue southwick 3/2 sack orphan without pants anywhere in sight and not quite able to work as an odd jacket.

Agree. Button codes mean fuckall for newer stuff. 4420 I think used to be for LVC 5011978 fit for the past decade or so

I was thinking about this today as well....and had an idea that might make it interesting. Or not. Alphabet scavenger hunt. You'd need to know the brand/label that goes with each letter, name it, and snap a pic.
For example, A, B and C would be:

I don't know - might be a stupid idea. I vote for this guy as the mascot:

Is anyone else having flashbacks to when Darkmatter7 was first posting on the forum?

I think that's a good call. A random person starts with A and then they select the next person to go to b and just go off a list. Caveat being this is an item you must purchase and integrate into an outfit. Pocket squares and socks do not count.

The scavenger hunt is what first brought me to this thread. Now I understand that there were real pros who were winning!

First of all, shoutout to 1ofTheCoolKids for helping my wife and I out on a CL purchase out in his neck of the woods! He saved us a lot of money! :slayer:

    Today's finds:

My apologies for the awful photos. I rely almost completely on natural lighting and today has been most dreary.

Today was almost a complete bust until I hit a store that has my highest failure rate. 95% of the time I come out empty handed. It's in the middle of red neck country. Nice stuff sometimes gets trucked here from the stores in wealthier areas as overflow donations, but I haven't seen any of those in over a year.

I went in not expecting to find anything (as usual) and headed to the coat rack. The first one on the rack felt like heaven. Literally some of the nicest cashmere I've ever felt.

    No labels inside....

Check the pocket and see this. :)

Couple coats down I find this. Can anyone date this? My guess would be 50's or older.

Then this one a few more down. The most recent Daks I've found.

Hit the suits and pull out this guy. Screams late 50's.

Couldn't pass this up. Fits me and love the hacking pocket and long vent in the back.
