Dear Mates of the Thrifting Thread,
Take a look if you would like at: http://www.swapdom.com/, a startup that an old friend of mine just launched. It makes possible swapping stuff you specify. (You list things you want, and things you would be willing to exchange in their stead, then the machine in the background tries to arrange people in a swapping chain that leaves you with the thing you want, and takes from you one of the things you are trying to get rid off. It's pretty clever!) They are trying to get fashionable people to sign up at the moment, so I volunteered with them to spread the word. Take a look, the place has quite a few shoes, dresses, and the like at the moment, but lacks masculine presence smile.gif! I am working to put up my own things as we speak :).

I will now withdraw back to lurking in this otherwise corner of StyFo!,
TDP

PS. Allow me to add that I receive no money from Swapdom and will not be rewarded in any way for this, other than by seeing a friend succeed, if the thing takes off!

Put that together with the previously found ties at the same store (I'm assuming all from the same donation): Total cost for everything above: $13
I've been amazed at the finds over the past few days, but I audibly said "Jesus ******* Christ" when I saw those ties. Burning up with jealousy over here.

LeSacre, which do I win eh? Eh? Amazing haul man!

As the register spit out the receipt for the above speakers, I realized they were spelled wrong... FML. Taking back to another store now.

Willing to bet those "Macintosh" speakers were from a white van speaker scam. They play on famous brand names like that. I don't think McIntosh ever produced satellites.

Just found a set of 4 of these and the center channel... Kop@ 14.99?

As you've figured out, you want McIntosh...the older the better in my opinion. Components are tops (amps & receivers etc) but they made some awesome speakers as well. Can be worth more in pieces vs. as a whole - I gave up on planning to build new cabinets for the ones I grabbed at a GW a few months back and parted them out. Still have a few pieces left but most sold off pretty quickly. Sort of a shame to part them out but realized there was no way I was going to eventually spec out and build new cabinets - too many other projects on hand.

Some synergy

Except mine is for "The Timberdoodle Club"
Nice! Mine didn't last a day on the bay.

i know it probably depends, but how often is product turned over in GW to make repeat trips worthwhile?

i usually go 1x/week. for the thrifting veterans, is that too often?
Some spots almost daily, others no less than once a week.

Brag (nothing to do with thrifting, but you are my people, so I tell you): A panel discussion I prepared for the company I work for and submitted was accepted into SXSW Interactive today!
Cool! Congrats!

Listing started at 7:00 pm EST. Sold at 7:04 pm EST for the BIN of $80. Insane. Of course a Japanese buyer.
Holy cow.

Put that together with the previously found ties at the same store (I'm assuming all from the same donation):

And the other grenadines that I saw:

That is absolutely amazing.

Do you like it? Will you wear it? If so, you win.
This is what I saw:
