1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Been a little slow for me of late (abysmal really when compared to some of the recent finds here) but here are some of my better ones:

Brioni for NM herringbone dress shirt
    [IMG]

RLPL Linen - these always have some of my favorite buttons
    [IMG]

    Billy Reid
    [IMG]

    T&A in a rough color
    [IMG]

NOS w/ tags Brooks Brothers Lisle polo dated 1973 on the tag - looks and feels brand new...

    Paul Stuart Tweed
    [IMG]

J.Lindberg black leather blazer - probably one of the smallest things I've ever thrifted - tagged a 36 w/ 16.25" straight across waist
    [IMG]

Helmut Lang - first one for me

Zilli tie - another first for me

    Story Time!

Went to the beach with my wife and my 15 year old Pomeranian. Had a blast, first time dog has seen the beach it was quite a experience to say the least. My wife is vegetarian so we looked for a place to eat near Santa Monica. Decided on a random veggie spot, had a 20m wait for food. We stopped by a liquor store while waiting and bought a few scratchers, ended up winning $40. We kept walking and saw a Goodwill. Walked in and saw a pair of suede boots, ended up being Alden for J Crew Plain toes... Size 10.5d. Of course I picked them up and she found a pair of Jimmy Choo's in her size NIB... Paid $40 we won from scratcher and picked up our food.

Now the dilemma... I am a 11.5 and these fit a little snug. To keep on not to keep...Recently picked up 1000miles and havent even opened the box.

    Sorry blurry phone pic.

So this week the basement flooded and my computer died + it's week 1 of finals. Not great.

Fortunately, it's been the best week of thrifting we've ever had.

These are JUST the really awesome things.

    That's bold.

I vote 4 fold. Similar to the Zegna couture ties. It's like 3 fold with another fold on the other side, and where the folded ends meet mid-seam.

In other words, not 7 fold.

So, after trying on my NWT NIsus Hotel Uniform Jacket, I've decided it's a size too small for me...Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pissed off it doesn't fit me.

So, I'm making it available for trade for some Japanese swag or cost +shipping.

    It's a 38 short.

Chuck in some XL shoe trees for a week or two and they will stretch - if after that they are still tight, what I have also done in the past is put a sock on the tree to stretch a bit further. It can take a while but it works- and those suede boots should definitely have some give in em.

I've been wandering around Spain for over a week now looking for thrift stores with no luck. Finally, Saturday night on my way to the bar I saw a outlet store with a bunch of decals of recognizable brands on the window such as Corneliani, Zegna, Cucinelli, etc all right next to 50% off decals.

I had to wait until today after class to check it out. But they had loads of Corneliani stuff, quite a bit of zegna, some local brands, and some isaia. They had quite a bit of other stuff but the prices weren't all that great.

I picked up 4 things today but I'm going to check back often because they get new stuff frequently.

Somehow I negotiated the prices down even more with very subpar Spanish speaking. I don't think they actually appreciate Isaia because I saw some shirts for 20 Euros.

The ties were $35US each and the sweater was $14US.

    All ties are 7 folds.

^^^Nice! I remember when I was in a thrift or consignment store in barcelona some years ago where you were allowed to smoke, people were flipping through stuff with a cigarette in their hand

Nice! If it helps at all, those are probably on the Barrie last, thus only half a size too small. Try wearing thin socks with them and since they're already used, you can wear them for awhile to see if they'll stretch without decreasing their value. After some time, if you decide they just wont work, sell them and use the funds for some new ones!

and its no secret that Alden boots are gold on
