1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Aaah, now I understand. Went down there with my wife a couple years ago as she had a conference at the Mayo Clinic. I had visions of thrifts filled with wealthy medical professional's high-end cast-offs. Boy was I wrong.....

Good thing he's just a computer guy.

Welcome good sir, bless your heart for doing your due diligence, and the bolded part.. we all feel you. I gave my mom a mothers day gift ( a lovely vintage floral chromolithograph) and she oohed and ahhed and loved it and said to me "so, was this thrifted?" :lookaround:

    yessssssmoooommmmmmm

    Great shoes. Missing something though.

    Oh wait.

Shout out to Doomsticks, good on you for reading the entirety of the thread. That is really the best way to soak in all the knowledge everybody here has to offer.

I myself haven't been able to get out much due to wrapping up the school year, but I did get to make something cool in one of my classes.

For my pattern making class, we had to come up with a garment that we wanted to create from scratch. Meaning we had to draft the pattern ourselves, then sew up a preliminary piece out of muslin, fit it to a model and make corrections to the pattern based on how the first draft fit. I decided to make a kimono, and I'm not going to lie, Fueco's Hawaiian shirt posts may have influenced my fabric choice.

I eBayed an Abercrombie & Fitch shearling coat (made in England back when A&F was a very good brand) for my girlfriend for Christmas. Wasn't dirt cheap, but it was only a little over what we'd decided to spend on each other, was in great condition, and was something she'd been wanting for a while. Still had me on pins and needles wondering if she was going to be made I'd bought her a secondhand gift or not.
