1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

There was something about it that didn't feel right, otherwise you would've had another bidder. I'm seeing a ton of horrible fakes come across there, the tie and cufflink sets that have the SILK 100% tag on them with every single high end brand. I've called a few out, but I don't think they've taken the auctions down.

I buy from there a lot and haven't met any fakes yet. I got those 4-5 RT Seven Folds for like 20 dollars. Auctions fall under the radar quite often

Cooney is the best. E'rybody knows that. That tie overload I sent you was directly inspired by him.

I think this might be the loudest thing I've ever copped in a thrift, skeets included.

Cycling jersey from a bike shop in Italy.

but really, this is what I love about this thread. Nice work, gentlemen.

and I echo the statement about @ocooney . He was one of my first trades on this thread and still one of the best trades I made. A true stand up guy

I seem to be having a lot of luck with furniture lately. Swedish designer Bruno Mathsson for Dux, late 1960's to 1970's period, 2 x Karin chair, 2 x Birgitta chair in matching fabrics.
These are pretty popular now with 70's style making a wide reappearance.

    Made in America: Old
Made in El Salvador: old-ish. Production moved there sometime in the '90s, AFAIK.
Made in Brazil: Fairly recent -- sometime in the last ten years.

I think. I may be wrong.

AlexJ, your Tyrwhitt shirt there is an end-on-end, not an oxford.

    Hahaha.

I tried my thrifted interview suit the other day and it still seems to fit. I'm terrified that I'll outgrow it in the next couple of months and have to scramble to figure something out. Hoping to avoid thatttt since I had it altered.

The ties are awesome though. I'm wearing one right now. I can't thank @ocooney enough!

Well, if it makes you feel better, the highlight of my last few weeks of thrifting are a couple of Canali shirts.. been dry as a bone. I found myself contemplating picking up BB shirts again, but talked myself out of it. I did resort to picking up a few Charles Tyrwhitt shirt and e-thrifting RG skeets to flip tho [IMG]

Speaking of RG skeets...I was in a GW yesterday and ran into an older gentleman that I see and talk to quite often. He usually well-dressed, buying for himself and seems to know his stuff. He says that he picked up a couple RGs thinking that I might want them and figuring he would eventually run into me. I picked them up for a couple of bucks over his cost. [IMG] This is also the point where you realize that you spend way too much time in thrift stores!

I am quite the fan of Brook's Brother OCBDs, the roll is nicer than most mall brands. if you have spot basic 16.5/35, proxy?
