1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I'll send you some of our's, free of charge. Seriously though, this winter is taking it's toll on a lot of us up here. I'm also running out of places to put the snow that keeps falling...

Nice finds! Love that Inis Meain shirt!

Found a couple recent Zegna suits in my size today. Too dark to take pics though.

You need to give her something to do.

When my wife decides to come with me, I give her a list of shirt brands and tie brands to look for. Plus I hate going thru the shirt racks. half hour later, it there's anything in those brands, she strolls up with them plus anything else she liked. She's finally accepted that if I'm anywhere near a thrift store and have even 5 minutes, I'm gonna take a look around.

So I thought that Cerruti 1881 Sartoriale suit was something special. While brand-wise it's not, it's still an awesome piece of work.

But here's a wild ass Zegna to make up for it.

I saw an in inner suit jacket label today black with like 8 white S's. So basically SSSSSSSSS. Is that a brand or some type of generic label?

No problem. I remember it's come up before, and I just saw a label a day or so ago.

Passed on a ton of nwt brioni, kiton, boglioli, isaia jackets today in a sort of high end resale shop because the prices were still about 1/4 retail and it seemed like a big investment- is there a certain percentage of retail where you guys pick up or pass on high end nwt stuff?
Also left behind a giant tray of Ferragamo, brioni, various seven folds, etc because they were still 30 - 40 each...
(I know money talk is discouraged, but I'm trying to figure out the general idea of thrifting without making 400$ mistakes)

I don't think that's considered thrifting to be fair

True, and the only reason I ask is because I stumbled into the store between thrift shops and was curious if this were a common or profitable thing...

The NWT jackets were probably a good pass.

Seven folds might not have been if they were NWT.

I think those were all good *passes. The ties might have had some cash still left in them depending on condition and brand, but that's still a risky step into the breach. I've seen some used ties go for $100+, but they are the exception, not the rule.

*EDITED "prices" to "passes". Changes the entire meaning of the friggin comment. [IMG]
