1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Definitely the lower line...

Funny this convo was going on exactly when I sold a Canali SC (Proposta no less) for the inflated BIN price.

From my recollection of Proposta on this thread, it was a discontinued line that was prone to dated styling.

My bad luck brand is Brooks Brothers. They usually fit like a tent and I can't move them to save my life.

I once read that Proposta is just a fuller cut. I find Canali to be run bigger than other Italian brands I've seen in general.

Canali is one of those underrated brands, I believe. I NEVER find it in my size, but I have found a few with nice fabrics that I would have worn. It can normally be found relatively cheap on ebay here.

Quote:I like main line Canali, but not a fan of the Proposta stuff. Newer Brooks Bros stuff seems to fit me pretty well, but the brand that i feel is like a tent is Hickey Freeman, they seem to be catered to the AARP crowd.

Like Hansderhund said, it is underrated, great fabrics, and well made. and i am happy to part with a little extra coin for a good one, because i find Brioni to be usually far too expensive by comparison. does anybody else have a taste for Canali?

it Anyone EVER, finds a nice looking Canali in a 38R. you know who to pm.

Edit: also accepting decent & recent Zegnas.

I found a canali jacket that was marked a 50 (i.e. US 40). I can wear some 40's but this thing was sized like a 42. I'll keep this in mind when I look for some. I didn't know they ran that big!

Having thrifted much lately as I'm concentrating on moving stuff. But did make one stop yesterday.

Grabbed these shoes as they were high quality and will look good after a shine - Anyone have any idea of the maker? I feel I've seen 3224 in a shoe before (maybe the last), but can't recall.
They had been recently resoled to boot. Thinking VTG florsheims or hanovers?

No matching pants. Tagged 44R, measures closer to a 44S with a 29.5 BOC.

From what I remember reading, Canali mainline and Propasta were the same in terms of construction, fabrics and pricing. Propasta is just a defunct line that features a slightly different cut and styling features than the mainline stuff.

My local Marshalls has Brioni ties in Lime Green for 20 dollars. If you're a fan of St Patricks Day, lemme know

    Two things

    1. Anyone willing to proxy/have a nice staple navy tie?

    2. The mobile site is acting up. When using my phone to view the forum I'm seeing the desktop full version instead of the easier to navigate mobile version.
