1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Speaking of Ring Jacket...I stopped by Khakis of Carmel this past weekend(I was blown away...can't even explain how amazing it was)... I tried on a Ring Jacket, Creamy Waffle...Damn they make a fine jacket...Also thoroughly inspected the Vicuna made by Martin Greenfield for J. Lawrence house brand, and it was a wet dream of fabric. I tried finding out how he sourced the Vicuna (what mill), he gave me no info exempt the fact that I concluded it was not from Loro Piana...Jim is a class act.

+1. I have been impressed with what I've ran across in the past.

I liked the Gustins I thrifted a while back, but they were one size off. The Superlight was the model name. Super nice...

I'm probably pulling an all nighter at work. I've been here midnight 3 days straight, might as well make this last one count.

Fml. This is the worst week ever.

I've felt that vicuña jacket it was pretty much heaven although I was worried I might sneeze on it or something and incur Jim's wrath

Haven't posted in awhile as I haven't thrifted a lot lately. A lot of uncertainty with my company in my real job and unfortunately they restructured last week so I'm back in the job hunt.

The discussion several pages back has given me hope that I can thrift my way through this. I actually anticipated this and have been doing ok on ebay with things. At least have some solid leads on jobs through contacts I've made in the past, but could be awhile.

Anyway, hit up a 50% off sale the other day to snag a few things. Again, mostly trying to part with the stash at this point, but had the itch.

Macintosh Made in England ~XL Rain Coat - thought this was a good snag based on past auctions, but may appear I need the MacKintosh with a "K" on further research. Nataku?

Your wish is my command... Any help putting a date on this thing would be appreciated. No size or content tag. I can put it on, but it's tight in the shoulders. I'd put it at a slim medium.

Inoright?!? I passed on several more later. Even a Golden Fleece didn't make the cut. I think a ban on wearing suits was enacted in California starting January 1. Why else would everyone be donating them this month?

Thanks dude! Definitely picked up. They were on a rack at the front of this store (Mexecutioner would know the store well, I'm sure) and I almost missed them. But they caught my eye on my way out from purchasing a couple of Zegna shirts (seriously, do these things grow on trees somewhere??). The quality seemed good, so I put them back down and walked out. I Googled the brand outside the store and went back in once I saw what retail was like... They were a bit pricey, but after the homerun I hit with the Common Projects boots on Friday, I wasn't about to let these go!

Nice! One of my biggest thrifting regrets is having passed on at least three of those in the past couple of years. I didn't know how desired they were, just that I wasn't finding one in my size...

Hey gents, lately I've been getting pms from thread bros asking me about denim. I'm really honored and am very flattered! But the truth is I don't really know that much about denim. I'm learning as I go. I've only gotten into denim about just over a year...[IMG] I think thread bros think I know denim because I get super excited about denim especially selvedge denim so I tends to blah blah blah all over the pages...[IMG] Just on the top of my head, @Nataku and @troika are really the denim heads and SwnD gurus of the thread. If it weren't for Troika's guide to selvedge denim (it's some where on here), I won't have known what the difference is between a left hand twill and a chambray...Now, before youz guyz go accuse me of being modest, I usually can tell the quality of the jean by looking and feeling unless it's a pair of super vintage one. But beyond that, there are labels/make posted on here that got me googling all over the place. Anyhow, if any of you gents have questions about denim and you think I can help you, please feel free to PM me. I will do my best to help. If I don't know the answer, I'll do my best and google the shit out of it on the webz until I get you some info that's worthy. Since, I've pretty much quit thrifting to save for my honeymoon, I got nothing but shit loads of time on my hands...[IMG]

From my untrained eyes, I would say it might be from the 40's or early 50's unless it's a reissue...But not sure if the make was around long enough to reissue it...Does it have any other tags? Nat?

I just stumbled across this one... Mine appears to be the same style and to have the same tag.

There are no other tags, but there is a bit of stitching where the "store tag" would have been.

I did write a fairly detailed guide to this about a year ago, I'll have to review it and update it but...
