1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Of course, not indenting to say you are pretentious by any means. Just the knot itself, even it's name sounds like it is trying to be better than the windsor. lol

The windsor is the daddy. I do love myself a nice wide windsor knot.

I'd be willing to bet that 99.9% of women in college don't even know what the fuck an Eldredge knot is.

Been looking for a decent subwoofer for a while.

Finally found a Boston Acoustics PV700 in pretty good shape for $75 which seems to be working fine. Might be more than I needed with a 12" downfiring woofer and 200W, but nobody lives below me now :) (might have to trade down if I move to a new apartment).

Also saw a pair of Polk Audio S6 speakers...and I have been considering switching from floorstanding to bookshelf speakers (especially if had a sub).
Did some smartphone research on both them and the sub and decided to go for it. $110+tax for all of it which isn't cheap, but this is the most expensive thrift I ever go to and I did manage to negotiate the price on the speakers in half to $35.

Unfortunately, I got them home and discovered that one of the tweeters seems to be shot (swapped the tweeter into the other speaker, and the problem followed it). So add another $20 to the price for the ebay replacement I just ordered.

Could have sworn there was an audio thread somewhere...but I can't find it for the life of me.

When you tie them to the futon in their dorm room, they don't care which knot you use.

Does anyone remember that guy who used to post here that would double up his ties in a full windsor? thats what full windsors make me think of, that and sportscasters.
