1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Ok, out in Scottsdale staying at the rustic camelback inn and resort. High will be 79 today. crystal clear and sunny.

Hit some stores yesterday. Will say that thrift stores here are priced like consignment stores in NC. Jeans at local goodwill are $3.40 and a ragged out pair of elastic waist wranglers are $8.

That said I've picked up brioni, diesel, and zegna at decent prices. My wife joined me and found 9 pair of FF Hugo Boss. I don't know their labels but they're black. "James Brown" on some. (and before everyone pms me, I know I owe 2 of you notes on grey FF pants).

But found two things of that may be of interest to the collected group of esoteric footwear.

first, a pair of Hondo boots. From my days living in TX, hondo had a following, are made in El Paso, and made some out of elephant. I got these over here to the hotel and find that they're actually bull leather, not pachyderm, but none the less, in very good shape for a $10 outlay.

Then there were these. I looked at them and thought they were a pair of engineer boots, but with the 2.5" higher front at the knee and the kick starter pad on the left boot, I've decided that these are engineer-style, motorcycle patrol boss boots. A full 20" high.

    This shot compares the height.

Turns out that these are custom made by Jose Sanchez in El paso. I think he has retired and his kids have taken over, but he was considered one of the top bookmakers in texas. I think these are great.

That said, I have absolutely zero idea how much these are worth. a new pair today would cost 800-1200. They will get a good cleaning, moisturizing and polishing. I'm hoping there are some leather-trade folks cruising for stuff like this.

Both are 10.5D. Anyone knows anything about these, please PM me.

    Thanks.

I wouldn't be so quick to return it...depending on size, guys here might still be interested (count me in this number); and people on the bay usually are as well. I've had items that I've found to be damaged and could not return, made it very clear on the listings and had people buy them...granted they don't for near what they would without issue, but still profitable.
