Found another set of Ben Silver Blazer Buttons....the $225 Gold Plated version again. This time Non-enamel for University of Pennsylvania. (The Ivy League PA school, not the "Molester League" PA school....which I attended. )

Two pairs in two weeks. The way I see it, it's only a matter of time before I find the solid gold pair we are all looking for.

Hey, I just looked at the black "cord" SC I bought. The label inside said "Parts" and the care tag says it can be machine washed in cold water and dried at a warm setting on the dryer. Is that accurate? I can wash it in cold water? Never had a "cord" jacket before besides the chocolate one and I never tried cleaning that one yet.

Yes, but it will never feel the same once you wash it. Probably best to dry clean it anyway.

I tried on the BB chocolate cord SC again last night. I might ask my tailor if she can "let it out" and lengthen the sleeves if noone here wants it right off the bat. Pics don't do it justice.

Letting out seams and sleeves on cotton garments usually doesn't work that well - the previous press leaves a line that can't be fully pressed out, no matter how hard you try.

It isn't really "dirty" now. Maybe a little dusty from hanging in the shop (I don't know if it was there a couple of weeks ago or not). Maybe I should just dust it off and have my tailor alter it for me.

Hey there thrift experts, when is it possible to un-orphan suit jackets and when is it not. where do you go to get trousers that match a jacket. Is it worth trying? thanks.
It's a pain ********** to unite orphans. I've only done it twice and it was really luck than persistence. Please don't try to force two similar pattern/shades of garments together. It's like staying together for the mentally disabled kids. Was that too harsh?
Got a small guitar amp last night for $15.00. I can't remember the name right now. I'll post a pic tomorrow. It'll come in handy for practicing. It has a distortion knob and button on it. Cool as hell.

What kind of amp is it? I have a Roland Micro Cube and it works like a charm.

I still have yet to reunite an orphan. My latest failure.

Good thing you reminded me. I need to take my Epi Casino home with me from the storage space. Maybe tomorrow. I'll try to take pics of the amp this weekend. I think it's an off-brand but I hope it sounds good enough for practicing. It's a real small amp with an 8' speaker.
I have a Vox AC-15CC but I moved it into storage last weekend because I'm moving into another apartment next month. I also have a vintage Fender 1965 Super Reverb. I want to eventually get a Fender Blues Junior for practice.

Ralph Lauren Purple Label POW Sport Coat

1) Ticket Pocket
2) 100% Cashmere
3) Surgeon Cuffs
4) My size (40R/L)

This may hit the buy/sell or ebay. Paid $95 so not thrifty thrift dollars.

I was at a "stuff etc" recently, consignment shop version of Goodwill, and they had a 3 piece suit.

The pants were separate.

The jacket was separate.

The vest was paired with a DIFFERENT jacket. Cause blue chalkline goes with gray. The blue chalkline vest was tagged separate. The gray jacket was tagged as if it had a vest.

I almost exploded their heads when I tried to explain what was going on (in an attempt to get a few bucks of the gray jacket, tagged with vest but paired with wrong vest and correct vest missing).

I actually reunite quite a few, I think because my local GW separates every suit that comes in. Best ever was a navy Zegna in my size - only thing my tailor even wanted to do was adjust trouser length and find out which thrift store in Milwaukee had a Zegna suit.

Found the pants first. Jacket was in the ladies section.

Two orphaned Polo jackets last summer at GW, I found the pants for one that day but took home the other jacket just to see. FIVE WEEKS LATER the pants show up. So you never know. But as I'm sure others here can attest, you'd get burned more often than not doing that.

Yeah, I've got a Brioni orphan, a Borrelli orphan, a BB makers orphan and now this Kiton orphan sitting at home with no pants now, as well as a J. Press reverse orphan.
