1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Not a total loss though, I found this cool old varsity sweater. Tiny little thing, maybe made for a cheerleader or something? Available.

Well, I was gonna post my finds, but after that sick Belstaff, Tom Ford, and the general level of awesomeness, I think I'll wait until after someone brags about finding some great lanvin or Christian Dior again.

Good grief, guys. That Sulka robe. Tom Ford shoes. This thread is rocking!

And stop complaining about flipping talk. It's half or more of why half or more of the people here thrift. If it weren't for flipping, tons of amazing stuff would never have been found or bragged about here. So just give it a rest.

    Trophy Cihristyan Doir tie kopped.

It looks like the tag says it can be washed in lukewarm water. Should I do that to make sure it's clean? Ahhhhh, scratch that, don't want to screw up my washing machine or clog the drain if/when it disintegrates.

Also picked up a piano recital trophy with shitty little plastic gold cup on a wood base. I'm sure Caitlin is super pissed at her mom for donating that one. I'll PM you later.

I'd say the Pendleton was worth grabbing. Never seen a mackinaw by them before. Great haul as well. NWT R&B blazers, Cucinelli, etc. Wow!
Very cool! I'd say a small men's. People were considerably smaller back then. 36-38 was a lot more common size than it is now, and back then there was no vanity sizing. Here's those AE Leeds I found last night. Black are sold and Brown are dibsed by like 5 people. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Many people here do indeed re-sell some of the things they thrift. But how many of those people consistently make posts demanding that others freely contribute their intellectual capital? Do you really want to read a thread that is half populated with "help in store need advice on whether or not i should kop this PRL tie very serious issue let me know i am very serious ebay big timer gonna make a lot of moneys let me know ASAP." This one of the better threads on SF because it largely acts like a community. I can't help but feel like the consistent drive-by posting from people who have not and will not contribute anything to the community has a negative effect on this space.

All this being said, I am hardly the type to complain about what is being posted on a message board. At some point, however, a bit of self-policing is necessary. I know a number of people who have stopped posting because of the nonstop flipping talk.

I'm still catching up in the thread but had to stop and post re: all you guys telling the noob to return a NWT Zegna suit for $110.

    What? Seriously?

Sure the damaged one isn't worth it. But the other, flawless Zegna suit? You could double your money on that in a week no problem.

    Now back to reading.

I'm usually ok with the odd flip talk because it's done by regulars and long time contributors to this thread (and they usually keep it to a minimum); but there has been a flood of new people to this thread that have been blatantly abusing the spirit of the thread.

I think anyone who hasn't contributed should have to find out the hard way if their pick up was a good kop. Having to sit on some $100 shirts or a stack of Dior polyesters will be the best lesson for them.

...and I can't do a post without commenting on the finds as of late....that sulka and TF shoes are outstanding, but that NWT Belstaff Spoo found; unbelievable!

Shirts: NWOT CT slim fit, Turnbull & Asser (both available), Lorenzini (n/a)
Ties: NWT BB Makers and what's that...

Can I count that as a Rag & Bone cherry pop? I'd swear I saw this exact tie when I walked around their store a month ago. Needed a basic green tie, so the BB is helpful. And I've been staying away from CT, but this is properly NWOT quality and a basic pattern in a normal size.
