1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

The image is of Tarot The Magician - no idea what brand / label might have used it.

I've always wanted one of these. A guy several blocks over from me has one. That's the only one I've ever seen in Minnesota. Had to do a double take when I saw him drive by. Had no clue what the hell it was at first. I couldn't get over how many I saw in LA. They're all over. Then again, in LA BMWs are like Hondas everywhere else - every other person has one.

    Yeah, I think that's Zegna.

I know. It is so close to going into my closet....even though I almost never have occasion to wear a tie.

I'm in TJX with an epic haul of Rugby, Patagonia, and Filson. WTF is a Filson garment doing so far out of its element?

After 130k miles my Volvo s60 was approaching the wrong end of the bath tub curve, so I got this last month.

I used to drive cool cars, but now I drive way too much to make that practical. I've driven 10,000 miles since August, so it's a VW diesel for me:

Did essentially thrift it--paid $3000 under private party book value. Could probably make money if I sold if right now.

Never seen Filson in a TJX - bizarre! Rugby [RIP] shows up here on and off on clearance, Patagonia (and your other grabs - Marmot, North Face and Mountain Hardwear) more often. Filson, never.

Filson: USA or Chinese made? The one I grabbed last weekend was made in China, and not getting any love on that auction site. [IMG]

2000 Camry here. Thirteen years old but feels like it is from another era. On the plus side, it has a tape deck so I can drive around listening to my old mix tapes and pretending I'm back in 1988.

Re: reconciling relationships and thrifting, I'd echo what others have said here. Bring her something nice from the store occasionally or use proceeds to fund something nice for her. Today, I found a pair of bnwt Ugg winter boots (retail for $240) and scooped them for m'lady. Turned out to be a half size too big, but she appreciated the thought. If anybody is looking for something for their boo, they are size 8 and available:

We drive the same car, same year. Still running solid after 215,000 miles.
