1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I might have jumped the gun on that a bit. How's a 500 post cutoff sound? New list comes out roughly every 3 months or so. You up for it, pilgrim?

BTW, I can only post 3 more times on the forum for a while. I'm saving my 3,000th post for the 100,000th post in this thread. I'm looking for the perfect gif to post. This one isn't it.

Why do I strongly dislike Goodwill in Minnetonka, Minnesota?

Seems about like my nomination process for thrifter of the year. You both are okay in my book...

You forgot to mention the donation was about 30-35 pairs so they're taking up half of the pants rack as well. They're never going to sell and just take up space.....

First nice speakers I ever bought were Acoustic Research AR-2ax speakers. They were amazing but my cabinets were trashed.

Talk about synergy - I found that same leather portfolio thing yesterday where I got the Gokey Battenkill duffle bags. Was $10 and passed because I couldn't find a maker (looked like the hand crafted stuff that was made in Mexico back in the 70's) and I was spending enough as it is.

    Speaking of those Gokey duffels.

This one looks so much like them, couldn't figure why it went for so much at the time....now I know, someone just wanted to look like they had one.

Sorry about being so lax with pictures, but I thought I'd take a picture of two of the things I found. Both were pricey by thrift standards, but they weren't going to stay there.

    1) Schott G3 shearling bomber. Mint except for missing a zipper tab. Size 40. Yes, it's available.

    2) Klipsch floorstanding loudspeakers! :D

I also found an Anderson & Sheppard suit, but that's going to my best friend.

Nice!! I bet those Klipsch sound amazing. Some nice floor standing speakers have been on my want list for a while now.

Serious - I couldn't believe it as I thought the same thing. Mine was well used and had an incredible patina though. I grabbed it thinking it was some crazy old bag from a high-end maker like that brief case I sold you (forgot the maker of that one). Same stitching on the sides, bone shaped leather patches on the front and the blank leather strip on the inside. Spent a good 5 minutes holding it at different angles in the light to see if a maker was inscribed on it. Nothing. It then occured to me that the lack of maker name and the stitching on the side reminded me of a leather jacket and a leather hat I had a long time ago that were made in Mexico back in the late 60's or 70's. Decided to pass, I never have luck selling stuff without a maker. You'll probably get good money though.

Yep, they're a very iconic design. They are pretty sought after. I need to pick up some more leather conditioner tomorrow and clean mine up. I should probably get the larger bottle this time......
