1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Hadn't found a tie worth a shit lately, so even at consignment pricing, I was excited to pick this sexy ETRO beast up for myself.

Finally a so-so day at the shops! Only went out for a bit. Can't wait for the Halloweeners to be gone. (This stuff is tentatively UNAVAILABLE because I need the monies... Unless you have something in 12E that I can't refuse)

Selvedge black rockers. Waist is (probably stretched to this size) near 40, length, though hemmed is around 37, so it could easily be re-hemmed for non giants.

Pièce de résistance-- RRL Hamilton waistcoat. Well, that's the model closest to this that's currently offered.

Hope to get those turned around and posted quickly. Also might have ran into someone who I think will be best described as West Coast Spoo, pending further investigation.

Found this guy...not my size but I picked it up for my brother. Haven't heard this brand mentioned on here but seems like a cool find. Google tells me it's pretty quality stuff and perhaps a little rare in the states.

Fueco - nice find! That's a cool piece. Wonder how it got all the way down to California?

Minnesota Woolen Co. was based in Duluth. One of many woolen mills that sprouted up here in Minnesota. As far as I know, Failbault Woolen Mills, Bemidji Woolen Mills the the only ones still going.

Back to your piece - I'd say it dates from the 60's. If marketed right, I'd say an easy $40-$50.

I have a late 30's-early 40's wool shirt (one of my favorite shirts and has got a lot of wear so far this month with our cool weather) made by the company that Minnesota Woolen Co. bought out in 1946 (Mendenhall-Graham Co).

It's more the tie and waistcoat with cuffed jeans and rugged boots... just incongruous in every way. And a little too much on the top although thread groupthink probably disagrees.

I agree. The jeans also look so straight fit that they almost look boot cut, which the massive cuff doesn't help.

Oh well, 38r seems cool and posts cool shit. And none of our personal senses of style is the same. It would be boring as hell if we all liked the same stuff. Everyone has their own taste. As long as you feel good, that's all you should give a shit about. *shrug*

Thanks dude! I knew you'd know what it was...

I found that at the Grand Opening of the new Savers in Dublin, CA. I have no clue how it ended up there, but I can recognize a classic buffalo check wool shirt when I see it!

In other news, we had a friend over tonight. He's going to place a pair of 1940s Levis in my hands to sell. I really can't wait to see this!

I was half expecting to see you there tonight... There were certainly some hardcore thrifters there! I wasn't the only one with a full cart!

The official opening is Thursday. This was a "soft opening" for friends and family (and people who follow Savers on Facebook, apparently). Good times... Nothing too earth-shattering: my coolest find there was a little bronze Platypus sculpture by an Australian designer (Pete Smit). Not worth a ton (retails for $100-130), but really cool.
