1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I thought that this was worth posting. It's a 40R but was tagged as a XXL and priced accordingly (at $14.99). It's burgundy. Nothing special, but racers have their fans.

I got this Burberry sport coat today, great fabric, fits perfect, cost $3. However, I need some advice on what would go with this pattern.

I don't have any other plaid sportcoats, so I'm not sure what would be the best look with this. Any ideas?

A hard three button is not a popular look at the moment. That being said, medium gray trousers, light blue shirt and a solid color necktie (chocolate, navy, hunter green) ought to be ok. Brown shoes too.

Any vintage Levi's experts? Picked this Type 1 jacket in NYC, but I'm unsure if it's an original or an LVC reproduction. It has all of the right details to date it in the 1930's/1940's (jerky tag, Levi Strauss & Co SFCAL buttons, Big E single sided tag), but some fading at the arms that seems off. Anyone have any insight?

To me, the leather tag on the Levis is in way too good condition to be 70+ years old. I'm no expert though.

Edit-I should say that with that much wear, you'd expect the leather tag to show more wear. I see a lot of 70s/80s jackets and that part is busted even with minimal wear on the fabric.

If that thing is part of a suit, whoever broke it up did that jacket a favour.

I'd say dressy chinos or tan or brown pants, or the aforementioned medium grey trousers would look good, with an ecru or not super dressy white shirt and a solid navy or burgundy tie, maybe a knit.

I do mostly agree with you about the almost too good condition of the leather tag and red tag. On the other hand, I've only seen LVC's with general sizes (small/medium/large), not numbered sizes.

Versace Wool/Silk Suit 46R - NWOT I think at least the pockets are stitched and the trousers unhemmed. No idea how much these things go for but it's available if anyone is interested.

So...shipping hundreds of pairs if designer jeans to a friend in VA may have paid off a little today. She found this at her local. On its way to me soon.

Guys, I've discovered the Vintage Fashion Guild website as a resource for older labels, but is there a resource (online or otherwise) for modern menswear or fashion labels, something that would help me distinguish recent labels? Of course I've found the maker label thread here, but I'm looking for something more centered around brand lables like VFG.

Pretty neat, but we must acknowledge the original artiste (also the set designer for Pee-Wee's Play House once upon a time):

Any 40 shorts in the above collection will mean that I will not be able to pay my November mortgage.
