1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

That's beautiful man... I'm about to pull the trigger on a grill for the backyard (gotta do something with the thrift/EBay proceeds). Thinking 3-burner Weber model. Any other suggestions? I'm trying to keep it under $500...

    Piiiiiics!!!!!

Found some BP-sized Club Monaco gray sheen-y chambray-ish summer trousers that look like EG pants, convincing me Club Monaco, despite the goofy price, makes some decent things.

Picked up two conflicting things today. Some yuppie PRL shorts and a shirt from the 1980's skinhead band the 4 Skins. I'm going to wear both at the same time. Oi.

Go charcoal or go home. Get one with a smoker chamber so you can BBQ too.

Sorry dude, I got a lot of love for Levis but when it comes to dating vintage stuff or knowing anything about the ones that cost more than $40, I'm useless.

    No and no.

    This.

Sorry man, it's a really lovely jacket but just not for you. Please please please resist the urge to get it tailored down to your size, it's just too big everywhere. Sell it and use the money to buy something that fits.

If you're still on the fence, think of it this way... The purpose of wearing nice clothes is to look good, and that jacket will just never look right on you (trust me, I've done this myself). A Barbera jacket that doesn't fit will always look worse to the casual observer than an H&M jacket that does. And for those in the know, it'll be even worse, because to them you'll just look like some wealthy twit who spends a ton of money on clothes but doesn't know his own size.

And if you're still not convinced...

Apparently it's Formal Night again at Cap'ns House. I had no idea I had thrifted/hoarded this many tuxedos.

The last blue one is actually from my personal closet. I am moving to something different.

    On my way shortly.

Can't really make out the mfr. Burnett?
Either way, it's likely a well made table, even if it's from a lesser known manufacturer. The top may not be real wood however. The shine is too intense. Unless it's just a bad camera angle.

Couldn't read it either, was hoping someone could recognize it. Top definitely had some kind of veneer.

Great find on that 4-Skins shirt. Would definitely run that.

I passed on a nearly identical table at a flea market about a year back and am seriously kicking myself. At the time I thought "where would I put it?" But we moved some things around and now I have a spot that's just aching for a low, narrow MCM table to put my martinis on.

    WUUUT??

As far as I know, the Royal Classic line is not Oxxford it is just one of their better lines. They do have a bespoke line that is made by Oxxford but not the Royal Classic. Do not purchase and try to sell them as Oxxford suits, this makes it 'item not as described' according to eBay (I won a case due to this issue so have researched it extensively).

Here is the Royal Classic collection, suits start at $1629
Here is the Oxxford collection with suits starting at $4999

    Big difference.
