I'd go with women's. It looks as though it should button on the other side, did the other flap have buttons holes? That single button looks as though it goes on the inside.
Gloverall duffles are difficult to tell and the women's look just like the men's, except for the buttoning. Since they look the same, it's not a big deal to buy/wear a women's duffle if you don't mind the buttons on the opposite side.

Yeah, full set of button holes on the right. Duh...didnt think to look at that.
