Damn Wes, that's some tie haul you've got there.
That original label "Mill Valley, California" tagged Banana Republic is the duster you're looking for. As you probably know, when The Gap (before it was just "Gap") took over and then later sacked travel journalists Mel & Patricia Ziegler (Banana's founders), the whole safari and travel ethos was chucked, sadly. If you've not seen it, here's a great site called "Abandoned Republic" that celebrates the early years, incredibly well-written catalogs, etc.: Abandoned Republic LINK
Was I stupid to pick these up for 10 bucks, does anybody think they can be resoled?
Spoiler: Warning: Spoiler!
bench made in england, assuming c&j?
You'll make some money selling as-is for resole, but I don't think it'd be worth it to have them resoled before selling.
Sargent and Cheaney also made for Polo.
Awesome tie haul, Wes.
Sick. I love finding ties, maybe because they're a one size fits all kinda deal and I know I always have the option of keeping them.
Thanks, but I am pretty sure it's not a grenadine...
^^ Ah, got it. It was difficult to tell on my phone. Still incredible, though!
Don't think it's a grenadine. It's a navy / black weave.
Something I passed on but thought was curious just from the tags. Was a nice heavy coat - double breasted unvented....
^^ Wouldn't take it if it were free. Good pass.
