Yeah...a couple more years in Tidewater as a kid and I'd have been forever at peace with my regional accent but moving to Charm City at age 12 managed to create a previously unimaginable hybrid. :embar:

ROTFLMAO. I couldna sed it bedder.

When you grow up surrounded by nothing but corn and chickens, it's unlikely you will learn how to speak well. Thank goodness for private schools and higher education. Still can't kick the accent though, but wouldn't want to anyway.

Lol, don't get me wrong, I'll pick up cashmere coats that will fit me. I think Lord & Taylor has been around for a long time so the name has recognition. Heck, they even had it on Mad Men, season 2, I think
Bro, why would you want to do that?

Same thing happened to me recently. Found a pair of well hidden PRL/C&J. The BIN was good but the starting bid was MUCH better. However I didn't know if anyone else had spotted them. I figure with less than a day to go if someone was going to do the BIN they would have. So I placed a snipe at the BIN price figuring if someone else bids against me at the last second the odds of me getting them for the BIN price or lower were still good. Ended up I was the only bidder and got them for the lower price.

That size hat, I suspect, will be a tough flip. But the box should be fairly easy, I think. And I would've gotten those Imperials. It once took me six months to flip a pair of weird size deadstock Royal Imperials (they were, IIRC, something like 9AAA), but when I finally did, I did very well. Kind of like sleeper stock. Sooner or later they would move because you would likely be the planet's only source, and you'd get your entire investment back on all the pairs, and then some, with one sale. Hope that makes you feel better.

Hey Spoo! Is this thing legit? Got my doubts, but in fake stuff I never see them line the buttons up perfectly etc. Made of 100% viscose. Textured / crinkly look. No origin tag to be found. Embroidered left chest pocket.

    Thanks!

Sleeper stock - good term for it. I always get frustrated after listing something a couple times that I end up keeping it / donating it / selling it for nothing. For selling, I need more patience. The hat size is a bit wee, yes - hoping, like the shoes, someone will come along eventually.
I'll be going back to that far-flung town weekend after next, so will drop in and see if the Imperials are still there. If yes, great. If not, okay as well.

    Thanks.

From the last couple of weeks...been remiss in posting much lately, and thank you again to DolFan who suggested some places when I was down in FL.

This stuff is from all over the place - true thrifts, resale, consignment clearance sales, outlet mall clearance sales, etc...
Nothing available at the moment - some already scheduled to start on the 'bay tonight since I've been too busy doing that and have been negligent in posting here in quite some time.

Won't bother posting the more run-of-the-mill PRL, BB etc stuff that I always pick up.

All you have to do to pretend to be bam Margera now is show up in court with puke all over your suit.

If you're using a sniping program I think you have to be $.01 under or it won't work. I made that mistakes a few years ago using gixen on some poorly list CDG blazer and my bid never went through :(

Made a trip up to Phoenix on Friday and had a blast. Thanks to ApolloTrader for some tips!

    Summary:
    - 25 different stops
    - 8 hours of thrifting
    - Daphne's Greek for lunch (I know it is fast food, but I like it.. and there aren't any here)
    - 2 hours of poker (won more than I spent shopping)

I'll save you from looking at everything, but here are some highlights:

Canali Proposta SC - Fits me perfect N/A. From Holt Renfrew. First time I'd seen anything from that Canadian Store. Thanks for coming to Arizona!

Also found a Burberry's coat for me:

Passed on a Belvest suit at a boutique consignment shop only to find a Belvest suit (Super 150s) and two Belvest coats (Cashmere blend and Super 120s) at my next stop. They appear to be a 44 R with fairly short sleeves. Available.

They had a friend donated at the same time (same size) - Black Nordstrom Loro Piana 100% cashmere coat:

Luigi Borrelli's shirt with unusual measurements (thus why this guy had it MTM). It fits like a normal 16 1/2" / 35" shirt, except that it has 22" shoulders and a 15 1/2" neck. Certainly available.

    Faconnable shirt for me:

    Turnbull & Asser for me:

Versace - not sure if it is for me or not.

A Salvatore Ferragamo "Ships in Bottles" tie:

After poker was over and I was heading home with extra cash in my pocket, I wished I had snagged some Mezlan crocodile loafers at a consignment shop... Oh well.. maybe later.

Hahahaha, ah.... This reminds me of a lot of people I grew up with, since geographically I was on the border between the Maryland accent, southern Jersey accent, and Philly accent that all kind of blended smoothly into one-another. I like to think I've done a pretty good job of nailing down the non-dialectical accent, but every once in a while I will slip towards an extremely diluted Maryland-ish accent. Definitely no "wooder," but still sounds like hoe-'em.

I grew up around people who would use crayfish, crawfish, crawdad almost in equal proportion, though I'm more of a crayfish person myself:

Whoa, un-spoilered and was uber-impressed. I have that same exact pair of Cable & Co. shoes in my closet!

I strayed into some territory I don't usually go into.

Lee denim jacket. I'm hoping it's pushing into the 1960s because of a couple of clues from its construction.

Navajo design western ROPER shirt, Made in USA. There's a stamped tag next to the mfg tag and it appears to say 1983. So probably of an age to have inspired Ralph Lauren passion for the Southwest. I think the hipsters in Brooklyn go for this stuff.
