It's like the Antique's Roadshow guys, but for shoes!
in sum: great for personal use (especially if you like to blur the line between tasteful and douchey) but probably not very flippable.
also: klobber described faconnable shirts as basically the poor man's etro. i think that's pretty accurate.
1982 to be exact.
This pair is actually pinpointable to the exact year. AE started using the "Handcrafted World of Allen Edmonds" slogan in 1982. McAllisters were available for several years prior to 1982 under the catalog number 6271, but in 1983 they switched the catalog number to 6275. So yes...early 80's....1982 to be exact.

A little more on McAllister. They were an original model in 1956 and were in the rotation until 1959 with the catalog number 4473. They came back in in 1979 with the number 6271 until 1982. They switched numbers again in '83 and stayed that way til 1997. They have not been available since '97.
Before that they had the logo with the elongated italicized A on the footbed. The early Handcrafted World of AE models still have the elongated A in the silk "window"...like yours.Wow Wes, do you have your own Spoo type signal yet? If not, somebody get on that asap. Thanks for the info, I'm not sure how you managed to spot the "Handcrafted World Of Allen Edmonds" stamp. Is that just from handling so many pairs? It seems my eye is getting a little better too, in terms of dating used shoes that is.

Just dedicated research and knowing how to browse through the info efficiently. but thanks...^^^^I'm sorry, I have to re-quote this, just ******* incredible.
Sorry...I should have been more specific...Spring of 1982...not fall.
Interested to hear @ if this is worth grabbing or not , I assume its not mainline Versace, but I ran into one just the other day (edit- suit, not tux),,,,price was $50 +, and ebay completed show a range from @ $50 or so to $150, so I didn't kop.....
