There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I've been absent for a while after starting a new job. Bargains have been pretty difficult to find over here lately but some can still be found.

My most recent successes include a bespoke Chesterfield overcoat that I found in a charity shop. It has a blanket lined heavy twill (weighing in at 3 kgs), with velvet collar, fly front and working cuffs. On turning out the inside pocket, I discovered it had been tailored for The Hon. FW Bampfylde (the 2nd son of the 2nd Baron of Poltimore) in 1927. Considering its age, it was in phenomenal condition, with zero signs of wear or moth grazing. Bought for £12.50, I accepted an offer of £250

The other was a bespoke T&A shirt in solid black with cutaway collar, tailored for an extremely slim fit. Bought for £3.50, listed to start at £19.99, it went ballistic last night. Two bidders got involved in a shoot-out and it ended on £112. I don't know what made me list it on auction but I'm glad I did instead of the £49.99 BiN I originally intended

And one of my best record finds (I think)...Like 16 years ago I saw an LP at the recordstore, Notorious B.I.G Unreleased and unleashed, on Bad Boy with just a white sleeve. I didn't buy it. Later that day I heard that Biggie had died and when I went back the record was gone. I saw someone once buy it on ebay for 100$/buy it now. A couple of years later I found it, real cheap. And then they released an official version of the album which might hurt the value?

    I don't know, but I guess it's a really rare record

First of 2 linen thrift fits this week. I haven't even left for work and the trousers are wrinkled. Oh well.

    This is my low-rent outfit.

No, not at all. I'm glad I spent my Sunday doing this

Rather than finding 4 Kiton suits (let's assume, for personal pain's sake, that I went earlier in the day and was able to reunite the jackets and pants).
Now, which is the sarcasm emoticon again?

No pants yet, but I did get a very nice offer to let me know if they find them in the back, because I had already bought the jackets.

But I did find some other not quite as fun stuff.

Small snag in the tie that I think can be carefully pulled back.
Doesn't quite make up for some Ben Silver idiocy that I was chastised for previously.

Thank you Philly for being gentle. Still on the road so it will be a while before I measure stuff up/figure out what really fits and what has to go.

^^^^Wow! Awesome finds and definitely take them up on the back room offer. I know of no place around here what would offer that. All I've gotten was "Tough luck, pal."

I'd like to once again thank everyone for the kind words and the congrats on this haul. Really am thrilled and shows that persistence does pay off. That long dry spell of finding nothing really worth posting about did have an end.

An Update: A few pieces have found their way to SFers. Glad they were able to give them a good home. I plan on keeping a handful of pieces for myself. I know I will likely never see anything like this again.

I have also exchanged a couple PMs with a SF Yohji enthusiast. Looks like most of the pieces are from 2005-2008. A couple from 02-04 and one possible vintage piece from the 80's or early 90's. He said the best piece was that tartan insert coat which is from A/W 2008. Quite a few runway pieces in the lot as well. :bounce2:

    Anyone familiar with this maker?

My size, comfy, soft, etc so I don't really care if they turn out to be nothing. Sold in Nordstrom's, so can't be totally awful.

Also a random Canali shirt for the 'Bay.

I found a great new thrift store yesterday.

I think it was called Maxfield.

They had Balmain, CCP, Rick Owens, Saint Laurent... it was incredible...

Just thought I'd share the wealth.

if you're ever in LA, check that place out

Was this a good pickup? Two RRL leather jackets. Not my thing, and made in China. Ebay prices seem all over the place.

    Sorry for crappy photos ....
