1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

After a long while of not finding the time to thrift, I finally stopped in a shop on my way home from work. Unfortunately had to leave a pair of Dolce & Gabbana derbies in my size because they looked just too beat. Here's what I did get:

Paul Smith London black wool trousers and Nudie ecru Slim Jims, both about 32/32, available
    [IMG]

2x skeet blankets in their natural state
    [IMG]

And, possibly my favourite find... John Varvatos handmade in Italy desert boots, got kind of a Marsell vibe... size 10 and a bit of a fixer-upper, but available.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is some kind of reverse calf or something, no? Doesn't seem like suede.

Crepe sole is coming off, would likely need a cobbler's attention soon. Leather is peeling back a bit on the interior too.

Second word is "Canada" and this appears to be a Hoselton aluminum sculpture. Pretty sure the first word is "Hoselton" but it's written a bit weird, might say something else. Poke around enough on their site and you should be able to figure out which animal, but I'm pretty sure it's one of their geese. http://www.hoseltons.com/

Thank you! That was driving me nuts.

It looked like either a goose or a sting ray to me. I assumed it was up to interpretation but clearly it's a goose now.

    Makes a nice paper weight.

Re: Spending nearly $50 on shoes from a thrift. I guess I'm the resident poor person in the thread. Spend away, boys!

Anybody want to school me on the weave? I know there are differences within the grenadine family, I just haven't memorized them yet.

@Acosbysweater, you are definitely not the resident poor person, but look at it this way. Most people will spend $50 for a pair of shit shoes from the H&M or whatever. Even though they are used, I would still much rather spend that on a pair of Church's, especially if they were my size. If not, to put towards a pair that is.

If you spend 50 to make 100, that's a 200% profit. Not bad. Especially for him picking up 3 pairs of nwot shoes.

Get a credit card and buy the items with it. list the items as soon as u get home. Get paid after a week auction and you have the money to pay the credit card off plus your profits.

Kerry: We all play the hand we're dealt. Am I happy living in an area where cost of living is so high that I have to work 3 jobs AND THEN have to flip clothing just to (sometimes) have enough disposable income to afford clothing at thrifts? Of course not; that's a crazy question. BACK TO BRAGGING, PLEASE I don't know that I included this in the brag from last night. Not available. [IMG]
