I doubt 90% of the people who read that article will even set foot in a thrift store after reading that, let alone turn into hardcore flippers.

If anything, it might make eBay customers a little more wary of where their products are coming from.

There are plenty of ways to make money. Donald Trump's business model isnt a secret, but can you reproduce it and is it a threat to him if you use leverage to buy some rental properties? No. The dedication, the leg work, and the knowledge that it takes to be successful are the critical elements. CapnWes in contrast to Private Eyes, for example. No disrespect to PE, but as Capn said, you must be doing it wrong.
As for Spoo mentioning Luxe Swap, why wouldnt he? He's a business man and this is how he makes a living...and an even better one that I thought he did, it turns out. Had he NOT mentioned LuxeSwap I would have been shocked and thought he were crazy. No point in being a secret business, is there?

I doubt anyone who reads the article would all of a sudden willing to spend countless of hours just to find that one piece...Wait a minute...This sounds familiar...

Today was rough, I had to put down my 13 year old malamute. I'm gonna hit the thrifts tomorrow to try and cheer myself up.

    Great job guys!

The cat has been out of the bag for some time now. Sorry catside, no pun intended. What separates these three, as well as most of the regulars here, is the knowledge that we have "paid" for over the years.

Fakes, orphans, stains, moth holes, brand identification. . . It is hard to hide 50,000 posts on the most active thread on SF on any given day. . . [IMG]

Normally don't thrift a bunch but after finding a Canali suit for $12 at GW and selling it on ebay for $150 I got the bug!

    Latest find yesterday:

Brooks Bros. Corduroy Slacks ( fit great) $5.99
Hickey Freeman Blazer (perfect and fits) $3.24
    Ralph Lauren Polo Oxford $3.99
2 pairs Zanieri Super 100 wool slacks (fit perfect) $4.99 ea.

All of his for a grand total of $25

THIS IS MORE ADDICTIVE THAN CRACK!!!!!!
