1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I found a similar jacket w/ tails like that dated 1908 in the Halloween section of a thrift store about 6 years ago. Still have it. Everyone says it's haunted. I'll have to take a few photos.

Isn't that the same tag, just a different color?

Yeah, but I think they changed colors. The silver was from the '64 cream shawl evening jacket. Could be just different levels of work (MTM vs. bespoke)

Well I tried them on and they fit like they were tailored for me so I picked them up. Good looking pants very light weight for summer so I got burned on the 50% off of $5.99. Oh well :) live and learn.

Yea, that's what I'm wondering. The flight coat I picked up last week has the white background, my cashmere topcoat has a purple background and I've got a SC with a red background.

This is somewhat a silly question, I think.

Aside from the fact that the alterations described would cost way more than you say, which someone else has pointed out, what it costs to make it work for you doesn't matter if you have the money to pay for it and you really like the coat. Anything--unless it's too small and you're trying to make it bigger--can be made to work, it's just a question of what you are willing to pay. People pay $5k or more for suits that I wouldn't wax my car with--that's just a matter of personal taste. So, if you really like the jacket and know a tailor who is up to the job, which can be tough to find, go for it. It could well end up costing more than a brand-new custom-made jacket, but if you like it, then it's worth it, given that you will never find another one like it.

Sorry, one more. With the ol Coach quilted jacket. I was going to go with the blackwatch duffle I got from Spoo, but I thought that would be overkill. :hide:

Hey, not to bring it up again, but I had a jacket I couldn't live without tailored from a XXL down to a small. I agree with Pnut here, if you absofuckinglutely love it and you're sure if wont mess with the proportions too much, go for it. Of course we will need to see before and after pics from which to judge. :D

To redeem myself, at least a little. I found this tie, still had tags on it for $3.
