Well I just spent too long looking for the OB's pants. Questioning whether I should hit up the other local GW's.

greater than the nearest integer to the number of times kiton has been mentioned in this thread divided by 400.

So the valuation is 4 digits, thus less than $10,000.

Seems like its >10k to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Long day today. One of my kids had some minor surgery. My bit of learned wisdom from the experience: you know everything went well when 20 minutes after leaving your kid in the OR you see the surgeon behind you in the cafeteria line-up and he gives you a thumbs-up.

Anyway, picked this up last night. It's in great shape, and XL with p2p about 25".

I've generally restrained myself from picking up trench coats, the weight of them always seems a bit much for shipping, but I figure I can't wrong on ebay with a Burberry. I see a fair number of Aquascutum. Does anyone else have luck with these? They seem to be plentiful on ebay.

And a long-ago thrift update. This summer I picked up a 1920s, art deco chiffonier. I finally did a bit of (minor) reconditioning of it and we got it into another daughter's room this weekend. We could have had a complete set but a crew of 6 guys walked off (a la Ocean's 11) with 2 matching dressers from the SA that was selling it.

Hopefully self-explanatory. Available

Also, if you PM I will not be able to respond until Saturday afternoon.

Cheers,

So, awhile back I promised a wedding day thrift fit pic. And here it is

Suit: Old school BB 346 3-piece sack suit. Got it from Newton Street Vintage for a song. One of my best investments.
Tie: JAB pindot, bought on sale
Shirt: PRL Regent from TJ Maxx
Shoes: AE something I can't remember. From Nordstrom Rack.

Is that you in the background?

Went at lunch... Didn't end up with anything but a weird story

Guy: You look just like a lawyer, man
Me: Hey! That's not very nice (smiling) (Sorry, lawyers!)
... some back and forth... apparently he likes public defenders...
Me: I build software
Guy: Oh, you've got a good job then
Me: It's okay, depends on the day
... he slides up next to me and lowers his voice...
Guy: Ever do any hacking? Can you hack the DMV?
Me: No, I just build it. Never done any hacking, it's too dangerous
Guy: Okay, they've got this thing with DUI's now and I need someone to clear it. I'd pay good money.
Bah!

Maybe it's meant to be worn as a 3-roll-1?

LOL!

It's only quantum mechanics, Brian, or is it quantum physics...

Time to change things up a bit. I think it's alright to post this here - it was bought in pieces off of eBay and paid for with thrift funds, so I think that fits in with the theme of the thread. Plus it seems like there are enough bike enthusiasts here that won't mind. My (finally completed) new (to me) ride:

Right now I have it set up as a FSSS (full-suspension single-speed). Will possibly make it geared in the future, but so far I'm diggin' this.

Parts list for those that are interested:

2010 Turner Sultan frame with Fox RP23 rear shock
Chris King ISO/Stans Crest/DT Swiss spokes wheels
Fox F29 120mm Fork
Chris King bottom bracket
Chris King headset
XTR M970 crankset
Maxxis Ignitor tires
Thomson seatpost and stem
Race Face Atlas carbon handlebar
Formula R1 brakes and rotors
Selle Italia Carbonio SLR saddle
Retail Value: ~$7000
Total investment: ~2500

As an ex-bike racer, possibly future born again bike racer, I gotta say that thing is real legit. My favorite part is the American Classic skewers. Halfway thrift related, I used to get American Classic wheels on a team deal (the hubs were orig. built up with Velocity rims, the shallow ones), train or race on them for a month or two and sell them on eBay for near my cost.
