1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Not quite... I ran this past the folks over in the Edward Green thread. The numbering seems to be random.

One guy in there said he has three pairs of shoes in the same pattern and same last and they are all from the early to mid 90s. He did give me a way to tell if they were pre or post 1995. Definitely prior. I'm going to fire off an email to Edward Green's customer service address to see if they can tell me more.

This is insanity. I get excited whenever I find a nice Banana Republic shirt in my size that hasn't been tagged with a "Boutique" price. I can't even imagine all of the above for a YEAR, much less a day. :fu:

    Whoa!

    Jamiebryant: mind blown!

Dex: very nice stuff. That Faconnable is nice; just wish it wasn't orange.

38R: love the tie, jacket (suit?) And shoes. Just not together. Scale of the dots makes it not quite right for a suit somehow (just mho), and the shoes are so formal thet seem over the top with a conservative fit. All just mho; again, I love the pieces individually.

And to the new guy: nice things in general, but I think Barrell was right about the orphan -- in fact, I think most of them are. Brooks brothers orphans (other than black fleece) and most others should be avoided. True top tier stuff, like Kiton or Brioni, can be picked up in orphan form.

GMMcL: it's not orange. It's sherbet. The rarest of cashmere colors. Or atleast that's what my ebay listing is gonna say.

Cant believe another SC found with 14k gold buttons.
This seams to be turning into an annual find for thrifters of the thread.

Congrats on those buttons as well as the rest of the haul.

And on a PRL jacket. Just goes to show how high-class they were perceived when he first debuted.

I used to be able to move down a rack of suits & jackets quickly, checking for nice fabric. Now I have to look at every single one to make sure I'm not missing gold buttons! :cloud:

Well, let's also remember that gold didn't used to be $7.654 MILLION dollars per ounce. A few years back, those buttons were probably $50 per set. A nice little unique blingification of a staple SC.
