1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I picked up one identical to the tie on the right a couple of months ago. Nice.

Quick protip: if you buy a blazer/sport coat that might be an orphan, wait a few weeks before listing it. You never know when the 93% wool, 7% cashmere, made by Corneliani for Polo gray herringbone pants might show up...

    My, that was specific.

So apparently if you complain about having never found something in the thrift thread, you will find it the next day. For $2.99. Mens 32

I have never found Kiton. Or Tom Ford anything. Or solid gold buttons. Heck, I still haven't found the perfect navy blazer...

    C'mon thrift gods...

Been really busy with work and haven't had much time, even for keeping up with the thread. I did find a couple things, though... This is a MINT Orvis 1/2 norfolk cord SC, size 46L. Love the hacking pockets and ticket pocket.

Nice J Press raglan trench coat. The only wear on this thing that I can find is on the tag. Marked a 42L but fits me, so I may keep it

I think this is what happened. I didn't even get to the one you & I discussed. They have weird hours, like 11:00 to 3:30.

    How did I make time to thrift: it's a fever I can't control. :bounce2:

I worked with a woman who told me how, in the late 60s, a boy she liked taped all his Beatles albums on to r2r and then gave her all the vinyl. :slayer:
When her father found out he made her give them all back.

Welcome back! I haven't seen you around lately.

Too busy to thrift - this working in an office is cutting into my habit - but I hope to get out this weekend.

Awesome thrift fits everyone! Here's mine from this morning.

Lost in the poor iphone details: tie is burgundy with cream dots, shirt is ecru and PS is ivory. I tried to pull 'em all together.
    • Ercole silk/wool jacket from SF B&S
    • Zara slim fit shirt (retail)
    • No name semi pin dot kind of tie
    • Banana Republic Heritage line. Deep discount on Black Friday. They're a gun-metal grey and very casual. It had side tabs so I had the belt loops removed.
    • No name silk PS
    • Dack's camel leather loafers. Only second time wearing them.

Oh, and another picture from my recent excursion. Some people need to get a real hobby!

The way to pull off pin-stripe orphans is to go over the top and casual! I'ma rock my DB pin orphan with red pants, 2 packet squares, open shirt, and some redonkelous shoes! Thrift pics to come.

I'm feeling everything except the trou. I think I'd have gone mid gray flannel. Edit: Or, if you have a lighter-than-navy blue trou? Hard to find, but I found a flannel suit (nothing special; Saint Laurie) in this color and use the flat front trou as separates. A bit more versatile than navy. Just MHO. Love the tie especially, though.

No new finds, but I thought I'd share this item I passed on the other day, as it's one of the weirdest/possibly most offensive things I've seen in a while.

Forgive the poor pic, it was in a glass case in the boutique section (along with $50 Klauss Boehler shirts the staff tried convincing me were extremely expensive and made in the U.K. "It's made in Bulgaria," I said. "That's still part of Europe," she replied).

Yeah that's right... WTC memorial candle with TWO wicks, baby. You know, so you can relive the memories.

Just picked this up today at GW. Not sure if it's an actual Zegna-made suit being that zegna trofeo cloth is sold to other suit makers.
Can anyone I.D. the tags to determine the maker? Thanks!
