1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

So, a couple of days ago I had a dream that I was at the opera and met up with EazyE and wife, and happened to sit in the same row as GMMcL. No thrifting took place, but I imagine that what I was wearing was thrifted. Oh, and the star soloist was Robin Williams, whom I met in the hall as he escaped after his last scene. [IMG]

I've found a number of Johnston and Murphy and Allen Edmonds shoes over the years, and thought that was as good as it got out here.

    Had a nice surprise today...

Crockett & Jones boots in pretty nice condition!

Picked this up Sunday afternoon at the local GW.
1968 Akai M-9 w/ enough classical music to last me a while.
Plays smooth w/ great sound through two 20W self contained speakers.
BTW, if anyone comes across or has 7" reel to reel music they'd like to make available, I'm now looking!

Nice and decent price for a larger 36S or smaller 38S range.

Those look great! (Thinking out loud) Black shell PTBs like those woudl do well in formal situations. They'd probably be more comfortable, too. Congrats.

You have no idea how much interest I've had already, though. And it's only been up 12 hours.
Dunno. Nice tie though. Quick thrift fit. I fear this didn't come together quite the way I was hoping it would. [IMG]

Cheap fake crap, but it might make you a few bucks on ebay.

When it rains in Calgary, it pours. I've had some of my best thrifting trips in Calgary...remember it was 50% off last week at Value Village and Salvation Army, so the thrifters would have been out in droves. How did you fit a thrifting run in while hitting up 2 ski hills?

Some of us were blessed with monkey genes; pretty good metabolism and unusually long arms...so many awesome shirts and jackets passed up because of my cursed long arms!

Nice find!!!! Reel to reel decks are very rare these days. Hell, they were scarce back in the day too. The "rich folks" and audio geeks were the only people who could afford these. In the late 60's, LPs were $3.98. Double LPs were like $5.98. Cassettes were around $8 and these reel to reel tapes were around $10. That plus the fact that the decks themselves were expensive too. I once found two Pioneer RT-909 reel to reel decks within the course of one year. Sold them both. One was left in the rain while I was working for the Salvation Army and powered up but nothing else worked. Sold it for $300. Now the other one was mint, came with a bunch of blank tapes and take-up reels too. Sold it for $750. Even though I got good money for it, I still kick my self to this day. I will likely not come across another one. :brick: Looking on the bay though, it looks like ending prices dropped a good $200 from when I sold mine. Typical eBay. I might try to buy one now...... Enjoy this fine piece of analog machinery. The fact that you got a bunch of tapes with it makes it even better!
Look real to me from here.

Love the jacket, but I think a solid colored tie would have really made this come together.
