Note that I have layers on beneath it. The wool was stabbing THROUGH a long sleeve cotton shirt!

I've given up picking things up to sell. The Ebay horror stories put me off trying it. I've got too much stuff hanging around that's not my size already. If someone here wants it, they should get at me to go back for it.

You could always mail the things ~40 minutes south :hide: Although I'm so backed up already...

No buttons nor a spot where buttons once were. Perhaps I shouldn't have picked it up.

i'm not sure. i'm no fashionista, but i know people who are. jil sander has long had a menswear line, but it can be extremely, uh, how to put it kindly, "fashion forward". It would not surprise me if this was her take on re-inventing the topcoat, without buttons and fasteners. witness from this year:

That has a feminine look to it, I'd lean towards women's.

Jil does make menswear. I think she launched her men's line till the mid to late 90's. Don't quote me on that, though.

So, I went to my most frequent thrift today (I'm there at least 3 times per week). The same woman is my cashier at least 2 out of the 3 times. She knows me fairly well, as far as what I like to buy and what nights I come usually come in. She is confortable enough to make small talk about her pain in the ass neighbors or whatever else is going on in ther day to day life. Well tonight I got to the counter, after a few fruitless visits, and she remarked that I finally found some stuff. Then she said...."YOUR A SENIOR CITIZEN RIGHT?"

    WTF!!!!![IMG]

    FML!!!!![IMG]

For those of you who don't know me that well on here, ....I am 32....

Maybe...but I could not stop laughing. She is probably in her 60s and she said, "Well my husband is bald too, and he is a senior citizen"

    some thoughts:
every time i need to express that something (restaurant, outfit, car, etc.) is cool or desired, i take a cue from the macklemore song and i sing-song, "this is fucking awesome."
digmenow, i have read that manton thread which is excellent. in fact, i read every post in it some while ago and dropped the list into a google document. i am working on the list in the same way.
i see all these sick pendleton pieces. where were they sold at retail and why are they so pervasive? i passed on a pendleton camel colored wool blazer in my size, needs some serious tailoring though. worth it to go back for it? it was like $4.

Ditto that. When I switched car insurance they asked if I had donated to anything recently so I could get another discount - United Way, given blood or whatnot. I said not real recently...and the lady kept at me - well, how about in the last 6 months? Maybe you gave money at work? Or the last 12 months? She was dying for me to say yes so she could give me another discount, and I remembered I donate to the SPCA every year so that covered it. But yeah sometimes folks just want to do you a proper, which I am always skeptical about and wish I wasn't that way.
