1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Ahhh man, that sucks! Faquing old biatches! CAn't trust them! [IMG] I stopped using carts and only use baskets. I hate the thought of some stinky ass clothes hanging over my shoulder and brushing up against my face. That's how you end up with a face full of fungus!

Great haul. Having personally thrifted in every thrift shop in RI, I have a greater appreciation for this haul. Nicely done!

It's funny because I passed on 2 of these within a 3 week period about a month ago, since they were like $25.

In other news, if anybody wants a sick vintage Raiders starter jacket (same style), LMK.

Been dry lately, but one place today had 4 Brooks Brothers SCs semi-recent (from the last 5-8 years) virtually in my size (43-44). 3 from Italy, one from the US (camel hair). Two of the ones from Italy were Harris Tweed. Unfortunately, they all ended up being about an 1-2 inches too short for me.. All available - looking for 44L.

Tell me more about boots?[IMG] Brands? eBay Value?

I see them all the time but do not have the expertise to pick them up.

My point was that only about 10% of the items found are worth tailoring.

What I gather from reading through this thread (partially, anyway [IMG]) is that I should snag up rare and quality items, even if I don't fit into them. Is this a good idea?

I am new to thrift shopping (and dressing well itself), but did come across a BB 346 line suit jacket today. $15 from what I recall.
Any thoughts on taking up items like this? I definitely don't have the trained eyes that many of you have for good items (and brands).

Since we're all into labels, I'll label this "beauty":

Hucklecat, Here is my own personal study on this, cross-posted from the ebay thread. These numbers have improved even more since the second study.

Have you tried Lagunitas Lil Sumpin' Sumpin'? Delicious. Also, Brown Shugga. Sidenote: I say we vote Hucklecat for the unofficial title of King of Jorts.

Yes, this beer was actually produced last year for the first time as a replacement for Brown Shugga, because they weren't able to get enough of whatever ingredients they needed. Hence the name Lagunitas Sucks. Public reception was so good they decided to make it a seasonal release. Highly reccomend you drop the $13 and pick up a 6 pack if you see it in your region!

+1. If you have a decent tailor, you end up with something of amazing quality that fits you perfectly for a tenth of what you'd pay for it new - even if you'd never actually pay for that new. About 50% of the stuff I keep for myself goes to the tailor eventually. That said, a perfectly fitting but beat-to-hell shirt is still going to look like a beat-to-hell shirt. I've definitely made mistakes on getting unworthy stuff tailored.
