1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I've found a non-licensed Lanvin suit in the wild. Honestly, it was just a nice suit with a slim cut. Lanvin tailored clothes used to be made by Canali and are now made by Caruso, so look for the same things you would in any suit: soft fabric, canvassing, pick stitching, etc. If it's stiff as a board and with lapels at your nipples, it doesn't matter where it was made.

Or if you really don't trust your hand on suits, open the jacket up and look to see if the content tag is from Canali or Caruso.

I have a small one in my sig that isn't nearly complete because I only put people on the list who ask to be (i.e. if you want to work in stealth, that's your prerogative)

BTW we all pretty much agree Polo University club = dated, sustandard diffusion, it was the 1980s version of today's "Ralph" or "Lauren," ugh. The Rivetz, though, was a Boston company that made ties and obviously pocket squares...until Mr. Rivetz joined Mr. Lauren to launch the Polo line (Rivetz was in charge of ties). No one brags about picking up Rivetz stuff except me hahahahahah (PM me if you want to sell/swap those PSs)

As usual, this thread has been rocking the last few days....Been a little slow/dry for me over the weekend, but here are a few of my pickups

    RLPL tan cords, sz 34

Anyone heard of UK maker Christopher Dawes? They appear to be a maker of country/hunting apparel, not much info on web though...Found this wool/cotton blend shirt,
pretty nice and fits well so probably keeping...

    Blackwatch tie

3 ties I'm keeping.....Unlabeled glencheck wool (possibly even some cashmere in there, its supersoft), Blade by Michael Drake
with awesome skull/crossbones pattern, staple BB burgundy pindot....

1st Brioni tie, pink, unfortunately has a rubbed in smudge on front, will likely send to cleaners

    2 x RG

Typical BB shirt, but made in england...dont think I've seen this label before, anyone have any info? 15-32,
grabbed it in case any BB fans want it

This was kind of surprising, HSM Gold trumpeter, recent with super soft Loro Piana 100% cashmere...color has more blue to it to me than shows in photos...
think this was a nwot tag store donation, pockets sewn shut, buttons in inside pocket, only problem is it has a small
separation along the seam on back.....should be an easy fix, tagged 40R, but prob. more like 42---has 19" shoulders, 22.5 pit to pit....
would keep if it fit smaller

Edit- almost forgot- picked up my 1st brand- labeled pocket square, unfortunately a Vineyard vines and not RLPL or Brioni....keeping though...

Hey guys, sorry to bring this up again but still after an answer if anyone has any idea who made Holt Renfrew Made In England Overcoats, as I have a Wool/Cashmere 50/50 blend one in amazing condition that no one here showed interest in, so I am hoping to get some more info before going to the 'Bay with it.

Of course it is still available as well...

    Pics again:

Well, I went back on Friday and asked what they were willing to do on the Ferragamo since it hadn't sold the previous day when it was 50% off. I got it for $34, which I thought was fair. I hadn't looked at size or anything the day before since I thought it was more than I'd be willing to pay. Turns out its my size and fits like a glove. 100% cashmere and lots of hand work. No one has offered any guesses as to the maker over in the tagsand labels thread. I'm thinking old Zegna, but I can't find anything to verify that. Any guesses here?

Also picked up 4 Ascot Chang shirts. Two are custom made and two are tagged 16/34, but they all measure more like 15.5/34. Two are Thomas Mason shirtings, one Alumo and one untagged. There is some yellowing at the collars and some of the armpits, but nothing that the Oxyclean method wouldn't take care of. Available.

The link that evil abed put up a while ago to a JefferyD post about collar construction has been very helpful for me in quickly identifying good construction in jackets. It's literally a 3 second test that tells you if you need to look at any of the rest of it.
