1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Agree. I bought an FI SC a while back in forest green houndstooth. Quality and cut were there there, but it was just a tad too long, so I rarely used it. Then I found something in my size. Haven't made much effort to get rid of it, since the name recognition is so much lower. Happy to make it available if anyone is 42L and needs something that color combo.

Seems real. Sorry you're disappoint. Maybe it's been pressed flat; any tie would fail to impress after being through a couple of trips to the cleaners.

I'd listen to him. He knows what he's about when he talks Turkey.
Anyway, I had the same thought: What a great opportunity to try bespoke. I know Turkey doesn't have the same reputation as Italy or England, but they do some pretty good menswear out of Turkey. And I have to imagine the prices almost border on affordable.

Nothing epic, but two fun finds:

Polo Made in Italy Kiltie Loafers. 9 D. Need a quick shine, but otherwise in great condition.

+1 on Via del Governo Vecchio. Bought a nice hat for myself a few years back and was similarly amazed by the variety of Barbours on offer. Follow your nose - the smell of old wax will lead you to the right shop. Most of what's on offer on the street, though, is similar to what you might find in a vintage shop in the US - 70s fashions, denim jackets, etc.

There's also a pretty good lunch place on that street - maybe Corallo? Get the carbonara. (5 minutes after we were seated it filled up with models from a nearby studio. In Rome, the models eat pasta.)

in my experience, italians love barbour like americans love armani (same demographic, same reasons).

Not the ugliest thing in a kilt, but probably a close second

Stopped in at the local thrift during lunch break today.
Didn't want to leave empty handed so I grabbed this white cotton shirt. (Available)

I found a pair of Florsheim Royal Imperial scotchgrain PTBs in 9 E, which have pictures and are available in my B&S thread.

I also found a pair of FRI burgundy cordovan longwings, which are a present for my Dad because I love him and his ugly size 12 feet. Those are currently getting a rubber heel lift added so he doesn't slip and die.

EDIT: If you want to see the pictures in this thread then sure!

I should have the shell longwings back on the 26th for some more pics.

On today's trip I found a very cool pendleton flannel that fit perfectly. It's a nice brown/tan with red and blue accents.

It was raining Brioni today. Best part was that there were two volume flippers going through the racks filling carts right in front of me blowing right by all of this.

    Two shirts + tie

Most exciting find of the day though was this - NWT RRL jacket from Spring/Summer1996!!!. Only downside is a pen mark on the sleeve otherwise awesome jacket with an interesting design.

Just imagine the pen mark is supposed to be there, like those $300 RRL mechanic's duck pants with oil and grease everywhere.

Had some nice finds the last couple of days.

Popped my Brioni cherry with this silk shirt. It has a couple crusty stains near the buttons, going to try to take them out. Any suggestions? From what i read cold water and some vinegar??
