Darkmatter, how 'bout some deets on those sneakers, homie! If they're the cool, classic kind, $190's not bad. (A good B&S price, anyway).

Moving on, any chance one of youse guys could rock like a 52L black JAB/LP cashmere blazer? Or....would want to?

EDIT: (Alernatively, someone tell me what I could do with a huge evilly soft chunk o' pitch black cashmere)

If some of you want to give me ebay advice on a purchase, read the spoiler. If not, don't.

BROOKS BROTHERS Men's 100% Silk Sport Coat Size 38 Short NWOT

    David,

I got the jacket today. Thanks for the super-fast shipping. I was a bit worried the color would be more coral in person, but it's perfectly orange (as a graduate of Syracuse University, this is exactly what I was looking for). However, this is certainly not NWOT. While two of the three pockets are still basted shut, the coat definitely shows some signs of wear.

Looking it over, a bit of stitching is loose on one of the arms (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8286/7600065176_2d71c1cb6c.jpg)

    and

there's a stain near one of the cuffs (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7118/7600065700_29709c19f1.jpg). This is in addition to the general signs of wear seen throughout the coat (magnified somewhat, of course, because it's pure silk).

I'm happy with the jacket overall, but I just wanted you to know that is definitely used, and I feel a bit mislead.

    Jon

    Reply:

Jon: We were sold this jacket by a jobber who has always been honest with us. When he said it was new we took it as being new and didn't question it. We are refunding $10.00 of the purchase price and hope that is acceptable to you. Thanks.

    Questions:

Is this fucked up? I mean, I like the jacket, so should I just be happy with the $10 refund?

I probably need to get the arms slimmed a bit, along with some other things, so that should fix the seam, right?

EDIT: oh you bought it? If you really hate the condition, I would try to push for a full refund. If you are happy with the jacket in its current condition for $64, I would consider leaving some neutral feedback and explain that you were told it was NWOT, so buyers beware.

I think that loose thread is probably just basting thread which is trapped in the seam and not actually loose seam stitching. It may just pull out, but be careful. If it shows resistance, stop.

The spot is not too bad, probably will clean right out with a shout wipe or something.

As for F'ed up, I say "Kinda". They shouldn't sell something without first inspecting it. Knowing what you know now, would you have purchased it for $49.95? I know many people would. If so, it's no big deal. If not, ask for another 5 or 10 bucks. As for feedback, I don't know. Definitely not a neg, since they offered to make it right to you. Maybe Neutral since they were not very careful. If they are a reputable seller, they will learn from their mistake and this will not likely happen again. I would probably leave Positive FB if it were me since they are trying to fix it.

Although highly unlikely, I accept the challenge.

Still, calling something New Without Tags, when it has spots and shit on it, is just as "dicky" as leaving neutral feedback
