Finally hit the bricks again today, I had the itch and not even 100 degree weather could stop me. Nothing like whats been going on here the last couple days though.
A couple made in Italy silk scarfs, the one in the right has a really cool colored pattern that didn't show up well in the pictures.

    Canali, tentatively dibbed.

Hand woven in Ireland cable knit sweater by Carraig Donn. If it says "handwoven in Ireland" I've never gotten under $40 for one of these. However, this one fits well so I'll be keeping for when I need to step up my winter fisherman look.

The most badass tie I've found in awhile. Hounds toothy-plaidish, pure cashmere woven in Scotland. I've got just the tweed for this.

And finally, this awesome carving set. The only stamp on it says India on the blade. Looks to be hand carved. It's got little feet to stand on and tabs you have to press on to get the fork and knife out. Has anybody seen one of these before? Either way, its going to look cool on the bookcase. :slayer:

I just saw an ongoing auction for that banana republic jacket just yesterday...I can't remember the title listing, but I think it was up to $25 or so.

Edit: I guess you can see the pattern pretty well on that scarf. :embar:

Wow gnarly Isaia, my size but I must resist...

    Diesels are not selvedge
This is what selvedge looks like; note that the white edges are woven into the denim not stitched on top.

I will be typing up a selvedge primer/intro doc for a few folks, so if anyone wants a run down on what it is, let me know and I will send it along.

    Nice finds guys!

bytor, I don't think that's selvedge... The edges have just been sewn with red thread.

Eazy, that carving set is badass! I love finding weird and unexpected stuff like that. It's what makes thrifting like a treasure hunt.

Here's todays retina burning thrift fit

Isaia, nice peak lapels, recent, around my size too, you have to find the pants for this suit, must.....

Rest of your finds cool. That Prada SC is def legit, probably 10 - 12 years old.

    Diesel jeans not selvedge.

Who do you consider to be the most stylish person in your family? Is it you, or is / was it someone else?

For me, it's a no-brainer: my great-uncle (grandfather's brother) Charles Sherman "Casey" Jones. Early aviation pioneer and WW1 pilot, raconteur, smoker, drinker and businessman. Few pics:

Those are the trickiest non-selvedge jeans ever. Definitely intentionally deceptive. Oh diesel...

Much much better pictures of the ties from Orange County (California) and a new on that I just picked up today. First Brioni tie from New Jersey (1st picture), and where there is a Brioni tie, there are usually some Brioni shirts....more pictures to come tomorrow. Most are NOT available.

PLEASE - if you quote this, use the spoiler tag for the photos!

Also picked up this pair of shoes today....I usually buy anything with a few nails in it "better", but have no idea what this nail pattern is [IMG] Pictures are PRE anything (no burshing, etc) wanted to see how much better they will look in a day or two when I clean them up.

MAJOR props to xenos, who hooked me up with the Green and white RLPL (which looks really great in person) and the phenomenal black fleece tie. Super fast shipping, great packaging.

That transaction actually marked my maiden thread buy (I'm pretty sure, unless I'm forgetting somebody), so, yeah.

I only wish I had as high praise for my "NWOT" BB sportcoat plucked from the depths of ebay, which, of course, has signs of wear and a stain on one cuff. I'll mention it to the seller (like he'll really care), but I'm pretty psyched about the purchase actually, so it really doesn't matter. Oh well, to the tailor's you go!

Is that an awesome raincoat I see? That thing looks mighty nice. If you ever grow tired of it ....

Went thrifting today, found me a Kitten. Doesn't meow much though.

Also, passed on a pair of Edwin Japanese selvedge jeans (32x33) because of the low eBay value, but could go back to pick them up if anyone is interested. Medium dark blue, little wear.
