This was a very cool find IMHO. $1.70.

^^^ That car coat is yuck. It needs a pair of triple-pleated, salmon colored Zanella pants and some square-toed Kenneth Cole rubber soled shoes. But I'm sure there's a lurker sitting in a smokey Bulgarian internet cafe just drooling, though. [IMG]

Noob move but I picked up my first orphan coat today because it fit me almost perfectly. Principe (nothing great, I know) dark charcoal 3 roll 2. Besides the made in Italy tag at the top, and the brand tag, no other tags to be found on it.

Definitely want to take it to the tailor for some fine tuning. I'll try to post a pic and see what you guys think. Can a vent successfully be added on a ventless sport coat?

It's the second coat I've bought from this shop. That's all I've ever found there. Seems I have a location for coats, one for shirts, one for shoes, etc. Do any of you have stores that net you just one type of clothing regularly?

Had to settle for some cheap-ass Tommy Hilfigers.
I'm just finishing up Kenneth Roberts Trending Into Maine (thrifted, of course) and I keep picturing everyone wearing them, even the settlers and the Indians.

Nope. Not enough extra fabric. Don't get impatient. Wait for the good stuff.

    Yeah, don't do that.

3 stops only netted me this BBGF dress shirt, my first. Slim fit! This thing is sweet! The neck is spot on, but I need to have the sleeves shortened. If anyone wants to save me from this time and expense, get at me. Also, this shirt will need “the method” in the pits area  .

Passed on what I thought was a fake Hermes tie. Here’s why: the little man dragging that cart was different in two of the tags (I thought it should be reasonably identical). Also, one of the tags had a dollar figure, but with no dollar sign in front. It was something like 288.00 or 388.00. No pix of it since I didn’t have my phone.

Also, one of the coats that I found earlier had a $25 gift certificate to the ‘Sound Golf Links’ in North Carolina. If anyone nearby to that place wants it, PM and I can mail it to you. Expires on 8-27-12. Oh yeah, you’ve got to hook me up with something on my wants list in the near future :fistbump: .

    You fuckers crack me up.

OK, I redacted the original to keep the whiners at bay. I agree - it's a brag thread. Maybe not along the lines of original intent, but reading back it has evolved over time and I'm not afraid to say what I paid, nor what it sold for as a flipper.
If your thing is to keep that information personal, the best way to do it is not post it. I personally don't care to horde info. A separate thread for thrift flips would be fun to read, but may muddy the waters.

And the "pussy" word came up not to challenge anyone's masculinity, but to call out those of you who claim to have "thrifted" or "picked up at the resale shop" some really nice shit that we all know came from a designer consignment shop...you didn't pay $5 thrift price for that Oxxford or Borrelli (as I did, after hours of sliding hangars); you walked into a place where you knew you could plunk down $150 or more per jacket and call it "thrifted". So if you really, truly, thrifted something and got a great score, why not man up and keep to the original spirit (if that's what you're concerned about) and tell us what you paid?

If not, I know 80% of the so-called thrift scores here are bullshitting higher-end consignment shop buys and decidedly not in the original spirit.

Nonetheless, you fuckers crack me up. Carry on. I'm gonna lay low because I know it would piss everyone off even more if I accidentally posted # 40k.

I bought my first pair of BB Peal co shoes on a consignment sale, found 8 pairs of zanella pants on the same spot for $6 a pair. Other than that all my stuff comes from thrifts.
