Disagree with this. Its not a business thread, its the least serious (for me) thread on SF, and I follow everyones dialogue like a cast of characters in a sitcom. I enjoy the camaraderie more than the finds sometimes. I personally don't post many finds myself, so most of my posting here is "carrying on a conversation". However, I provide knowledge where I can, but mostly, I like chatting with you guys about a topic that I enjoy.

Passed on a ton of great stuff in bad shape today and talked to an older gent haphazardly trying on SCs in an aisle about fine menswear and trying to steer him away from HSM, JAB, and Abboud. That's probably the first and last time in his life he's ever gotten dress clothing advice from someone my age.

Picked up a recent Zegna tie to pay for the trip, some serviceable Red Wing 204 boots, and a sick Sonic Youth/Necros shirt with a flyer from a 1982/3 show. If its actually vintage, this thing was never worn.

    +1 . . . this is not a B&S or a Trade thread, but a bragging thread.

^^^ You should send that to lastdonb so that he can carry it with his mother of pearl inlaid pocket knife and gold blazer buttons after civilization collapses.

Is that the kind of case you put business cards in? Looks cool whatever it is.

This thread has evolved since its beginning to be about thrift culture in general. I'm not an eBay seller and would love it if discussion about resell wasn't so prevalent, but that's part of the thrift culture, so I'm okay with it. Really this thread could be broken into a dozen related, more-focused threads. But then you lose the simplicity of having just one stream of thrift discussion.

But I sometimes think it would be awesome to have a thread with just pictures, descriptions, and prices paid—sort of like the What Are You Wearing Now—Pictures Only thread.

It is indeed. I'm holding onto it though. Thanks for asking. :)

That's what it looks like. When I found it, I remembered this post about Victorian card cases from Put This On:

That would be blue ball central. No funny meme pictoral reactions or table flipping? Boooooring.

Yeah, I guess you're right. My thinking was that the meat of the thread—the finds—get lost in all the noise sometimes. But I guess the noise is a big part of the attraction.
