I had an amazing pick-up the other day. I got a navy blue two-button Canali blazer size 38R for $4.99 I almost fell over when I came across it. It is my size and fits perfectly. Also, it has already been tailored and whoever bought it is the exact same size as me. And the pockets were still sewn together, so either the gentleman never ended up wearing the blazer, or he doesn't use the front pockets. Either way....my best thrift ever by far.

Three really nice finds today, after a rather lengthy thrifting drought.

A beautiful Brooks Brothers plaid 3/2 sack, a very nice Brioni plaid odd jacket and to top it all off...a Chester Barrie for Austin Reed tan jacket. The Chester Barrie is the first I've ever seen and is amazing. I've never seen pic stitching this finely done.
Both the Brioni and the Chester Barrie measure to a 36 or 37 short to reg.

The right sleeve is short, the left sleeve is really short. Any material to let out?

Found a Bruno Piatelli suit, Loro Piana fabric, fits me perfect, but the pants are totally destroyed... I may use the jacket as a odd jacket.

It seems there is some discussion in the forum that Piatelli suits are made by Belvest or Isaia. Is Bruno Piatelli a totally different brand or not? Can any tell the make from the tag?

Is there a good time of day to go thrifting? I'm pretty sure most of my thrifting sucks because the rest of the hobos up here in Canada don't dress very well, but maybe there are a few Canucks getting the prime pickings.

You pretty much have to either be unemployed or self-employed to be a good thrifter.

I've been unemployed since January and all my good finds this year have been at times during the day where I'd normally be at work [IMG]

    First thing in the morning.

    Eh kinda sorta

It really depends on the store, most of the ones I go to just randomly stock during business hours, I've walked in at 10AM and gone through new racks, and at 6PM. I'm not sure there is really any sort of optimal time.

Found four shirts in 17.5/44. One Turnbull & Asser, contrast collar and cuff; one New & Lingwood; two Hawes & Curtis. All French cuff except one Hawes & Curtis.

Not my size, will be in the trade thread this weekend.

Pair of AE Woodstock loafers for $36. Virtually no use on them, look like they've been worn 4 times.
