Good article. Keep it on hand the next time someone comes in telling us we're undermining the "true purpose" of thrift shops.

Yeah. Apparently most donated clothes get sent to Africa. A lot of articles have described how it damages the local textile businesses and also creates a dependency, like hand outs..

This article offered an interesting and humorous insight.

However, I can't help but notice the strange looks. I was looking at the shoes for my wife with a pair of Ferragamo heels in my hand when an older female employee said "Oh no, those are women's shoes." I said "You don't think I could make these work?" and she just looked at me, trying to decide whether I was serious. She then explained that the men's shoes were in another room. I said "Jaja, I know, I have a wife and she wears shoes, too." She apologized.

HAHAHAHAHA! Oh man, I wish I could bust out some wit right on the spot. Need to thrift a self help book on how to be witty. [IMG]

    Check out them Lo-heads!

Disclaimer: I do not intent on offending anyone who is a Lo-head, here. Polo is sick. This brings back high school memories where every cool kid wore that puffy Polo downs, even during the summer...[IMG]

I kind of dig this actually, except for the tie. I actually like seeing something a little different, and this delivers. Need to see the lower half yo.

Exactly, you may get a few bucks less then the potential maximum value & sometimes listings do crazy thing (like that tweed 3 piece suit), BUT you will never have an tem item sell for $5 that should sell for $50 because no one bid. That is why I dislike auctions and 95% use BIN OBO only. It's not worth haggling over the last 10% imo when you want to move inventory and your getting a "fair" price.
