For the record it looks like it was 3 dogs Olive and one Oliver.

Yes this is the thrifting thread and dogs are a bit off topic, it adds a nice human element to our regular posts of material goods and monetary values. Plus being a rescue, my dog was kind of thrifted so I figured that counted haha.

Had a pretty good couple of days. Bunch of sportcoats

This HF Design is sick... Super fine and light fabric, unlined. Definitely good for summer. Never seen this tag before, must be MTM? Notice the name has been cut out. Around a 46R

i've only seen that "HF Design" tag once, on a super light, open-weave coat, in a greenish-brown that i think i sent to highlifeman.

i couldn't really find any info on that label, but yours and the one i found both seem really similar: light fabric, summer-weight, and unlined.

Can't compete with Chet's recent Oxxford score. Only one recent find. Someone harvested the buttons. 38-40 range. But, holy crap, if it isn't a forest green pure cashmere Oxxford jacket:

You people. What you have done to me.
I had been looking forward to this day for six months: New Premium Outlets mall in Merrimack NH, a few miles up the road. Grand opening this weekend.
I went. What I found:
-- BB all 346 with no clearance rack
-- Saks had Brioni ties and some sweet black label (who makes these do you know? Zegna Cloth, Italy) suits BOGO but still, I could have months or perhaps a year of quality thrifting for the prices they were asking (and that thrifting would turn into trades and more consignment $$$). Or I could go wild on B&S or y'all's eBay and get more-better stuff...
-- Bloomie's had some canali ties and some Harris Tweed (HT branded!) coats for under $200 but common patterns I see at thrifts for $3-10
-- PRL outlet no RLPL or "the good stuff" you see sometimes
I walked out with a dress for my six-year-old daughter, just to burn the "buy $50, get $25 off" coupon at Bloomies and to round up to the minimum $50, a Boss silk pocket square.
You people have blasted my standards so high that this day, Father's Day, I had been looking forward to all year...was a total bust, ha! Only at thrifts can I find truly good clothes. Also this one has no ORvis or Barbour or H-F store, which others do. There will be a Vineyard Vines store opening soon though, so there's some hope...

We have one of these in southern mass. When I go, I really only check out the Barney's 50% off rack which is still pretty expensive but you can sometimes find some nice Boglioli or Gant by Michael Bastian from last season relatively cheap. I'll check the BB ties section. You can usually find some "Makers" ties mixed in. Sometimes I will go to J. Crew (not sure what your opinion of them is) when they are having a sale. Can usually grab their chino's for about $20. Also Levi's outlets have the best deal on 501 STF's. Still all these discount barely compare to thrifting. Sometimes can be comparable too buying something Second hand off StyleForum or the 'bay. Basically if you want to find something nice at one of these outlet malls you need to be as persistent shopping there as you are with thrifiting. (Which may not be worthwile)

Here's my current predicament:

A guy bought a shirt from me and I shipped it to the address supplied by PayPal (in South Korea). I got a message from him saying he hasn't received the shirt (I sent it on May 22) so I checked the tracking information and everything and according to eBay, he has an Illinois address. Not sure if he wanted it to be sent to Illinois or what, but I'm pretty much telling him that he is a marsupial.

This ever happen to anyone? If so, how did you handle it?

Had this happen to me once. Well something almost similar, the guys ebay account and paypal account had different shipping address, one a street address and one was a PO Box. He didn't specify which and I sent it to the wrong one. Basically just had to be nice, explain the situation, and ship the thing again in hopes it would affect my reputation.

Weird - eBay is "holding" one of my listings for human review, to make sure the item is not counterfeit. In my 11+ years selling on eBay, this is the first time. It's a Burberry shirt, American made. I recently listed other brands like Fendi, Armani, Gucci etc and none got flagged for review - I would assume they get counterfeited way more than Burberry, but perhaps not. Or, Burberry themselves may have gotten eBay to agree to hold their branded items for a Burberry specialist to review [I certainly hope it's not some schlub who reviews whatever is next in line and makes a determination based on their best guess], as a way to stem counterfeits making their way into consumer's hands.

New one on me - just thought it odd...

Hmmm. I'm also selling a Burberry USA made shirt right now. Pretty sure it's real, but still hope that doesn't happen to me.

Picked up this formal / tux jacket last week, and when dropping it off at the cleaners I noticed it has a small nick at the bottom of the back - akin to sitting on a bench or whatnot and when you stand up the jacket is caught on something. The tear is about 1/4" in length. Seamstress quoted me $28 to give it a basic patch (so it won't unravel further) and shorten the jacket thus concealing and fixing. It's tagged as 42L / drop 8 but I haven't measured yet. Sooo...did I waste my $ buying the jacket and having it cleaned, hoping someone on eBay wants the same jacket but a bit shorter (and thus would have it tailored anyway)?

Have you already listed it? When I was listing mine, a big red & yellow warning screen popped up asking if I was selling a counterfeit item, and that if I was, to click "cancel", otherwise they will hold the listing until it can be reviewed. So if you didn't see that warning, and it's already listed, you should be fine.

:slayer:

I paid full price, and worth every penny x10. She's a rare double dapple dachshund, and zero problems with her eyes, like most (and piebalds) do. She is the most amazing thing ever and I love her more than just as much as my flesh and blood kid.

Thrift Fit Tip o' the day. Make sure your fly is up before taking the pic. Otherwise, looks pretty good.

Also trying a new hairstyle, parted on the right instead of brushed straight back. Axe Sleek Shine Pomade.
The shirt's a bit big but it's just the right weight for today's weather and the sleeves are rolled per F. Corbera. Plus I REALLY like the collar.

We should start a pool. Hell, I'll start a pool. The first person to find a recent Pal Zileri suit in a 40R-ish wins MONEY from me (the cost of the suit, plus shipping). We've seen 30,000+ posts, and no PZ.

Or maybe just a recent, complete 40R suit by any decent maker. We have members in Canada, the States, and Europe, and I can't remember the last decent staple find. Which is why I'm riding the consignment wave.
So how recent/old is this one I picked up today. First PZ I have ever seen. And if recent, how big is the money pool for this 40ish PZ suit in staple navy blue?

EDIT: Once I got it home under my 5000K photo booth, I can see the unfortunate evidence of over-drycleaning. Thus the search continues.
