Forum suggestion (if I may be bold at this early point)... As I lurk for buying possibilities here this morning, I tried to catch up with leaving feedback. I've transacted with three other forum members (nataku, vexco, and tben) and -- conditioned by the 'bay, I guess -- I'd like to leave positive feedback for the record. Well, I've discovered one can only do that if the seller has posted to the classifieds section rather than to this thread -- which allowed nataku and I to trade positive feedback! Bought some really Bill's Khakis from vexco that he decided to release in this thread, but I can't leave transaction feedback for him the usual way (by clicking his name and then clicking feedback) because the forum software kicks this thread as an "error" since it's not located within SF Classifieds. The transaction with tben just began, but I guess I won't be able to leave him feedback either because of the technical limitations. Anyway, if I'm talking way out of school as a relative newcomer, please forgive the positive intention, but it would be nice to end an exchange with a positive word regardless. That aside, I'm enjoying the forum and really love this thread in particular. :)

I hope this is legit because I paid a little more than normal tie prices ($8+tax instead of around $3+tax at GW). It's a first for me; that's why I snagged it.

Oh, and any ideas on this pattern? What is it?

Lol. $8 + tax. Good grab. I have never seen an Hermes in an NY thrift store for less than $15. They are normally $40 at least.

Great stuff! My shell PTBs are L.L. Sheppards and I think they are right up there with the Florsheims of the same era. I picked up a pair of tan pebble grains last week that are labeled "The Factory Store" (which I think is what Hanover tagged their over runs that went to the outlet store) and they are great shoes. Alas, they're too wide.

I would definitely agree. The L B Sheppard signature line is excellent quality. IMHO they are often better construction than Florsheim Imperials. I haven't run across and marked Factory Store, maybe because I am in the home town of Hanover. I do see some marked Factory Damaged or the soles stamped with the horse and rider which indicated factory damaged or seconds. However it is usually impossible to decipher what the defect was. The quality standards were so high even the damaged and seconds are better than most things made today.

Nothing today, but some guy did pee on my shoes in the bathroom at Goodwill. He looked like a crazy person, so I pretended not to notice.

Found this bad boy today. It doesn't have the original deployment strap, but it's still in working condition with only minor scratches on the bezel, and the glass is clean. If any of you watch aficionados will humor me, what might I expect to fetch for this if I were to sell?
